SIORIS Stay with me Day Cream

The perfect partner to the Sioris The Milk Cleanser, which I shared a few days back is the Sioris Stay With Me Day Cream.
SIORIS Stay with me Day Cream

Described as being a saviour all skin types, this moisturising day cream not only helps to retain the balance of water and oil in the skin but it is also tasked with boosting its moisture levels too.  I don’t know about you, but the past few months or so, I’ve noticed that my skin feels parched, it needs hydration whilst at the same time soothing. All the hours spent sitting in front of my laptop, having more meetings online than ever before, have wreaked havoc.

With this day cream, you can expect it to be packed with ingredients which are chosen for their ability to calm down and relieve irritations, inflammations and refresh the skin. To do that, as with the milky cleanser, this cream contains the likes of soothing Centella Asiatica and Camellia Sinensis which work alongside the following:

  • Organic Fruit Water (derived from green plum or yuzu), which is packed with nutrients, minerals and vitamins to revitalize a skin
  • Omija Fruit Extract (also known as Schisandra Chinese Fruit Extract) and it is packed with nutrients, amino acids and vitamins to nourish a skin
  • Antioxidant-rich Calendula Extract to soothe and calm irritated skin
  • White Willow Bark Extract - A natural exfoliant that can prevent pore clogging and soothe irritated skin.
  • Plant-based Squalene, Ceramide NP and Panthenol to strengthen the skin’s barrier and boost moisture levels
On the skin, this cream is incredibly lightweight, it isn’t heavy, it doesn’t take ages to massage into the skin and surprisingly the milky texture, once absorbed leaves no trace on the skin. It isn’t sticky or tacky and it definitely does help with this moisture levels in that my skin always feels dry around my cheeks moving towards my eyes, so that is where I have noticed the most difference.

Again, there is absolutely nothing to dislike about this cream, it is a delight to use and having tried a few products from the range now, it has made me want to discover what else Sioris has to offer.

This cream is priced at £28 for 50ml but you need to use so little each time you use it, it will last for months.

Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturising Masque

I suspect over the last year, we have all taken ore notice of how our skin looks and feels, I have definitely noticed less redness on my cheeks, but an increase in dryness and despite ensuring I drink the advised 2-3 litres of water a day, have a simple skincare routine and eat my 5 a day, I still need to use oils, masks, scrubs and cleansers.  One product I have used a lot comes from Bioderma with the Hydrabio Moisturising mask.
Depending on my needs, I like all different kinds of masks - sheet masks, bubble masks, charcoal orientated masks, drying tight on the skin masks, scrubby masks, gel masks and lightweight masks which you can apply and just get on with whatever it is you are doing. This Bioderma Hydrabio mask is perfect for those who need a bit of hydration, it is lightweight and you can apply it, carry on with the ironing and not have to worry it will drip everywhere.

Bioderma’s Hydrabio Mask, which is designed for sensitive and dehydrated skin, feels really soothing and refreshing when you apply it to your skin. It comes packed in a squeezy tube and one squeeze give more than enough product to cover your face.
Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturising MasqueThis weekly mask contains what is referred to as Bioderma’s patented Aquagenium® biological complex which is designed to stimulate in-depth moisture and lock it on to the skin’s surface. From the first use, this mask provides deep down, lasting moisture, even during periods of extreme dehydration. I have used this mask a lot, I think there is enough in this tube for one final mask and it is incredible for those times when you just need hydration. Sitting in front of a screen all day really does play havoc with my skin and since I have been working from home, I have sat on front of that screen much more than I would usually have done.

To use, the advice is to apply a thick later of the Hydrabio mask over the face and the neck to let it work its magic for at least 10 minutes, once that time is up, remove any excess with a cotton wool pad. The first time I used this mask, there was no excess! Following the advice, you should use the Hydrabio Mask every day for the first week, and once weekly after that. It is just utterly divine and I have already purchased another tube!

You can find the Bioderma Hydrabio Moisturising Masque from Lookfantastic* and  Feelunique* with prices ranging from £11 up to £15!

Aldi Lacura Micellar Water

I am absolutely loving these Aldi beauty products right now, if ever you have walked down the aisle, so to speak, the one which usually sits in the centre of most Aldi stores, you will come across some amazing products. In the last few weeks I’ve bought an Airfryer, a hand held hoover and some fishing clobber for him indoors! But today, I am back with another ‘dupe’ or is it?!
Aldi Lacura Micellar Water
I’ve made no secret of the fact I am not wowed by Micellar water, in-fact the ones I use the most, other than Typology, has been Bioderma, a brand everyone seems to have used and loved. Well from Aldi, we have the Lacura Micellar Water which has been described by many as being the perfect dupe for Bioderma Sensibio H2O Make-Up Removing Solution Sensitive Skin.

Micellar water is for many, the first step in the removal of our make-up routine, personally I prefer to double cleanse in an evening and use a Micellar water at weekends when I wear very little makeup. The different in price between Bioderma and the Aldi Lacura version is almost £15... but is it worth swapping them?
“Purify and detox your face after a long day with this fresh and light Lacura Micellar Water.

This clever makeup remover removes impurities and makeup from the skin in a lovely dermatologically tested formula”.

Packaged in a plastic bottle with a study flip top lid, this Micellar water has absolutely no fragrance to it whatsoever and not even a hint of anything chemical-related. I use reusable pads to remove my face of the day and admittedly, I am not wearing a full face of makeup these days, the only time I am making the effort is when I’ve got a zoom or teams meeting - then it is a tinted serum, mascara, brows, bit of bronzer and a light coloured lipstick - nothing too dramatic. I use an eye makeup remover to remove my mascara, but I did see how well this Micellar water would work if I didn’t do that. As expected, it removed a bit of the mascara, but as I refuse to rub my lashes, I instead returned to my eye makeup remover which needs little effort to use. As for the rest of my face, I’m actually pretty impressed with the job it did, gone was my brow products, tinted serum and bronzer and as there was very little lipstick left, I could see the remnants on the reusable pad quite clearly. Ever the obsessive, I still used a balm to cleanse my skin afterwards, just to ensure nothing was left lurking.

I have had no reaction, no flare up, no breakouts, no skin stinging or anything else happen since I’ve used this Micellar Water. It’s cheap at just £1.49 for 400ml and is definitely something to keep in your stash and use when you’re in a rush, tired or just cannot be bothered to do a double cleanse in an evening.

Is it a Dupe? The question everyone wants an answer too and the answer is it looks similar, it sounds similar it does the same job, so yes it definitely does sit within the dupe category, it just costs a lot less.
