Beauty Laundrette Foamy Body Wash

One of the recent launches to Superdrug last year was Beauty Laundrette and whilst I can never find them in stock at my local store, I did managed to grab one of the products in an online order a while ago. No one can dent rang the packaging is a lot of fun and quite kitsch with it pastel pink and baby blue offerings, but best of all, it is so competitively priced with everything starting at £1.49 for a moisturiser or £3 for a face mask rising upward to £12 for a bubble bath, plus there is the offering of gift sets for a slighter higher price.
Beauty Laundrette Foamy Body Wash
Beauty Laundrette state that their range is all about bringing the feel-good factor to your bathroom and as they put it:
‘Beauty Laundrette products are specifically developed to look after the most precious fabric on earth – your skin! Featuring shower, bath and body products with skincare built in, they are perfect for those looking to save time without compromising on skincare. It’s as simple as Rinse, Dry, Beautify.’
When I made my purchase, a lot of the products happened to be out of stock, but I did manage to grab The Soft Delicates Foamy Body Wash (190ml £6.00). It is dermatologically approved and ideal for those with sensitive skin, this is a lightly fragranced body wash which combines the ingredients of Honeysuckle and Chrysanthemum, which is referred to as being the 'Soothing Complex' to give the skin a clean feel.

If you are familiar with Shower Foams, then using this one won't come as too much of a surprise, but when using the pump dispenser, one to two pumps is more than enough. As it comes into contact with water, the foam expands and with it comes a lovely fresh scent, which does linger on the skin, but not for as long as I had hoped.  After using, my skin does feel moisturised and smooth, which I would expect to find.

L'oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara - The Mascara which went viral on TikTok

Mascara's are literally my favourite makeup item, the one that I want to try first in any new collection, the one thing I never leave the house without, even if I am just nipping to Tesco for some milk. But I have quite the list of what I do and don't like with the formulas and the wands.  When the L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara arrived, I couldn't wait to see how good it was, if the hype is to be believed, after all it went viral on TikTok.
L'oreal Telescopic Mascara
How did it go viral? A TikTok user reviewed this exact product on her page, showcasing what difference it made to her lashes and with over 25 million views, its quite staggering.

This mascara, which has been around for some years now, comes packaged inside a gold plastic tube, which very clearly denotes what the product is and how it is by, it is nothing fancy and doesn't have a luxe feel to it, whereas the L'Oreal Air Volume Mega Mascara, which I review a few months back, has a metallic pink tube which I loved.

For me to use a mascara, I want something which doesn't have an overly wet formula because I have fairly long lashes as it is and I also wear glasses for reading, writing and watching television, so I am looking for a product that I can wear without weighing down my lashes and without smudging onto my glasses. With this mascara, the formula sits perfectly between the not too wet or too dry, to the point that as you extract the mascara wand, there is no need to wipe off any excess product, because there is none.
L'oreal Telescopic Mascara
The wand, which is show above, stretches the entire length of the tube and is much longer than I expected it to be. It is incredibly thin but bendy, so as you wiggle the bristles between your lashes, the wand bends with the them, so it is much easier to use.

The bristles on the brush are short spikes, but they are not rigid spikes, they are quite soft. Designed so you can really need to work them through the lashes to get that lift and then for lengthening. As I have said, I have fairly long lashes already, so whilst I didn't notice a huge difference there, the difference was with the slight lift.  The formula, which having explained isn't overly wet, also manages to coat the lashes really well without flaking or smudging and there is definitely no spidery leg lashes in sight!

Are there any downsides? Removing this mascara is one you need to use an eye makeup remover with,it doesn't budge easily otherwise, it is a mascara which intends to stay put, until you force it to leave your lashes.

This L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara is priced at £10.99 and can be found
via Boots and Feelunique*.

Aldi Lacura Miracle Cream

Aldi's ever-growing beauty line Lacura, is known for its classic take on those high end brands, whatever your view on that is, then that is fine, but for me, it is like a discovery of trying to find similar but better.
Aldi Lacura Miracle Cream
The latest additions to my collection is the Miracle Cream and the Miracle Oil, two products which you might think you have seen elsewhere, they definitely give those Elizabeth Arden Vibes if you quickly steal a glance, but that’s for me whether the similarities pretty much start and end. Today I am sharing the Lacura Miracle Cream.

The Miracle Cream is, as you might think a dupe for the 8 hour cream and at £4.49 v’s £30, it would be rude to pass up an opportunity to try it out. Described as being a skincare miracle when it comes to moisturising and protecting the skin, it has numerous uses and benefits which are listed as follows:
  • Helps sooth dry skin
  • Helps promote healthy skin, seals in moisture and protects the skin
  • Aids the relief of irritation and redness
  • Helps moisturise rough, dry and cracked heels
  • Softens chapped lips
  • Can be used to tame your brows
So an impressive list of things this cream is said to do and help with.

Inside the tube, the orange sap-lip cream, which is more of a salve has a definite floral scent to it, which differs to the Elizabeth Arden option, which has more of a medical scent to it.  On the skin, the cream is much thinner and less icky, which is definitely a plus point, a little goes quite a long way and once it has been absorbed, there is no trace left on the skin.

Aldi Lacura Miracle Cream
The ingredient list with this Miracle Cream is petrolatum, so it is the same as the other one in that regard and there is also the same inclusion of Salicylic Acid, Castor Oil, Corn Oil and Linalool though in a slightly different order and the ingredients list for the Lacura Miracle Cream is far longer. So, whilst both creams are what is termed ‘occlusive’ aka help to form a barrier against moisture loss, they also both contain vitamin E to improve hydration and act as an antioxidant.

How does it fair? I’m not a real fan of the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream, the texture is something I find really off-putting, if it was more like this, then I’d be much more of a fan, so given the option, I am going to choose this Aldi Lacura Miracle Cream every time. Since using it, there has been no irritation, redness and admittedly I’ve used it as more of a lip salve and a lotion for my elbows which became quite dry and I’m impressed with the results! Oh and it is cruelty free too and displays the leaping bunny on its packaging.
Aldi Lacura Miracle Cream
Always one to look out for in an Aldi middle aisle and for the price, it is more than worth trying! As with pretty much else that you will find from their beauty section.
