CENTRED. En-Root Scalp Treatment

Scalp care is a topic you will see mention on my blog regularly, it’s an important subject to talk about, more so when my own gives so much insight as to how I am feeling. If I am stressed or feeling run down, my scalp becomes dry and irritated, with that I need products which soothe and nourish.
CENTRED. En-Root Scalp Treatment
From Centred, I was kindly sent the En-Root Scalp Treatment (£36) to test and try. Centred is the brainchild of Laura Tudor, who after ten years of working in the fast-paced fashion industry, felt exhausted, strung out, overtired and overwhelmed, but more importantly the toll of her high-stress career was impacting her physical health leading to her hair beginning to fall out. So, with the help of her husband and hair stylist, Laura set out on a journey to learn about what she could do to ‘undo’ the effects without compromise – for her, this meant natural, vegan, cruelty-free treatments to not only halt the hair loss but to stimulate growth and preserve her hair’s health and resilience. It was here that CENTRED. was born

Described as being a brand which is a concise and considered collection of super-charged, plant-powered hair and scalp heroes to cherish your lengths while respecting your scalp’s equilibrium. At the centre of the brand, it’s hero product is the En-Root Scalp Treatment.

This treatment has been designed to harness potent botanical extracts which work to stimulate growth while at the same time encouraging natural flora and fauna to thrive – this in turn creates a happy and healthy environment for follicles to flourish to give longer, stronger hair.

I love that this has been described as being a ‘facial for your scalp’, and it is an oil-based blend of a whole host of amazing ingredients which includes peppermint and rosemary with jojoba, hemp seed, tea tree oils and salicylic acid and together, they work to gently remove build-up, flakes and other debris from your roots and scalp but at the same time they help to stimulate blood flow, soothing irritation.

What this treatment also aims to do is to rebalance your scalp and because the clever oil-to-cream formulaic easy to rinse away with stripping your scalp and leaving it feeling irritated. To use, the directions are to apply it to a dry scalp section by section using the nozzle, then massage and leave to work it’s magic for 20 minutes to 2 hours before rinsing with water.

Designed to be used once a week, the formula – made with 84.5% plant-based ingredients – is cruelty-free and the proud owner of a Vegan Society badge of approval. I can’t rave about this scalp treatment enough, especially as someone who does struggle with an irritated scalp, more recently than I have done for a while because of stress and feeling run down.

This En-Root Scalp Treatment from Centred is definitely at the luxury end of the market and is priced at £36 here* but it is worth the investment.

elf Cosmetics Superbrighten Peel Pads

For the past few months I have been using the elf Cosmetics SuperBrighten Peel Pads (£10 here*) which I was kindly gifted and as I am almost out of them, I thought it was about time I shared my view. It’s been a long time since I’ve used anything from elf Cosmetics and these I really wanted to try.
elf Cosmetics Superbrighten Peel Pads
These SuperBrighten Peel Pads are said to be the latest addition to a collection known as the Supers collection, a collection of skincare products that invite you to SuperTone, SuperClarify and SuperMask to name just a few. This collection stands out thanks to their brightly coloured packaging and these Peel Pads fit right in with their Sunlight yellow pot and outer box packaging.

Described as being a gentle, single-use pad which help to exfoliate dull skin, for a brighter, more radiant looking complexion. Like similar brands whose product you might have tried, these ones are shaped like cotton wool pads and they are drenched with a solution to do all of the above. As elf cosmetics state, these pads are powered by AHA’s as well as both citrus and papaya extracts.

Similar in size to a cotton wool pad, within the pot, you will find around 45 pads which sit in the solution ready to be used and they are really easy to use too, . The directions, which are written on both the box and the pot state that they should be used after cleansing and then you are instructed to gently wipe one peel pad all over the face, avoiding both the eye and lip areas. As mentioned, they sit within the Superbrightening solution which has a fruity scent to it rather than a chemical one and I really like it.

Key Benefits

  • Infused with antioxidants, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA), citrus and papaya extracts
  • Brightens and nourishes the skin
  • Formulated with non-abrasive exfoliants like glycolic and fruit acids for extra glow
Having now used all but just a few of these pads, I can say that they are brilliant and worthy of that price tag. When used on the skin, they don’t irritate or leave the skin red after use and for an exfoliation treatment, they do a great job. If you have been wanting to add an AHA into your routine but haven’t been sure where to start, this is a great way to do just that!

You can find these elf Cosmetics Superbrighten Peel Pads for £10 right here* with elf Cosmetics.
