Today, I'm excited to introduce you to a brand that's new to me: the vegan skincare line, flânerie. Starting with the Purifying Cleansing Powder (£37), a gentle yet effective cleansing powder designed to clarify, calm, and soften the skin. Formulated with Green Tea Extract, rich in EGCG, it’s known for its anti-inflammatory properties and helps address redness, inflammation, and skin sensitivity, offering a soothing effect for irritated skin. The addition of Kaolin, a soft clay, aims to deeply cleanse and absorb impurities, making it ideal for dry and sensitive skin, as it provides a thorough cleanse without irritation.
As someone with sensitive skin when it comes to Kaolin as an ingredient, I was initially cautious, as my skin typically reacts poorly to it—becoming red, blotchy, and itchy. To be safe, I did a patch test before using it, and thankfully, my skin didn't become all upset and angry. Instead, I decided for the first few uses to try this cleansing powder on different parts of my face, still being cautious and other than my chin, which decided not to play ball and went slighty red after use, but everywhere else was totally fine and my skin was left feeling soft and smooth to the touch.
To use, you simply dispense a small amount of the powder into your hand and add water to create a foam. Massage the foam gently into your skin, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water for a fresh, clean feel.
The second product, the Vivifying Serum (£47), also known as Lily Bloom, is formulated to prevent and reduce the early signs of aging. This antioxidant-rich serum helps counteract the effects of free radicals, redefine the contours of your face, and stimulate cellular renewal for a more youthful appearance. The scent, inspired by the tranquillity of slow mornings, combines fresh, fruity, and floral notes of lily, orange, rose, and white musk, creating a soothing, uplifting fragrance.
This silky serum features three key ingredients, each chosen for their remarkable benefits:
- Hyaluronic Acid: Provides deep hydration, penetrating the skin to reveal a visibly more radiant complexion.
