Lacura Peptide Lip Treatment - Rhode Dupe?

A product that adorns my social media feed is the Rhode's skin peptide lip treatment which has been a viral hit for years, and well as the title might suggest, Aldi has a product that might have been inspired by that product with their Lacura peptide lip treatment.
Lacura Peptide Lip Treatment - Rhode Dupe?
Priced at just £2.99 you could argue that it has been designed to rival Rhode's popular version, albeit it almost £15 cheaper. With its sleek grey design it does share some similarities with Rhode, both equally stylish and practical, and both feature 10ml of product making it the perfect size to fit in any bag or even a trouser pocket.

The applicator helpfully features a classic angled tip, making it easy to apply just like you would with a traditional lipstick.

From the ingredients I noticed in Rhode’s formula, Lacura’s peptide treatment includes the same shea butter, vitamin E-rich babassu oil, but rather than the one peptide, the Lacura version features two types of peptides. Both products feature 'palmitoyl tripeptide-1', which helps support and repair the skin, but Lacura adds 'palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7', which works to prevent collagen loss and stop signs of ageing.

Coat your lips with a layer of moisture with this Peptide Lip Treatment. With a combination of peptides, shea butter, capuacu butter and babassu, your lips will look softer and full with a super glossy finish. Whether on top of bare lips or over the top of your favourite lipstick or liner for a much-needed moisture boost, this lip balm is a makeup bag essential.

From Lacura, the peptide Lip Treatment is available in three options - Unscented, Watermelon and Salted Caramel whereas Rhode features one extra offering with Vanilla.

Whilst I am yet to try the Rhodes Peptide Lip Treatment, I have got the three Aldi Lacura ones and what I love about them is that each one feels nourishing without being heavy, and when paired with a matte lipstick, they add a lovely glossy shine.  Of the three, the Unscented option is perfect for those who just don't enjoy scented lip products, which would usually be my preference, but the Salted Caramel version smells delightful, very much how you expect a salted caramel latte would smell if I am to compare.  Then there is the Watermelon which smells like a sweet freshly cut watermelon and not at all synthetic.

Given the price of under £3, I can say that all three of these are wonderful to use, a non-sticky or tacky formula with no unpleasant aftertastes or artificial smells, making them a great alternative.

How Lip Fillers Can Help Achieve the Perfect Pout Safely

Lip fillers is one of the most popular treatments around. Without a shadow of a doubt. Why it has dominated the market? Because it is a non-invasive way to achieve fuller, plumper lips in as little as 30 minutes. The results are obvious very quickly. But while they offer impressive results, the choice of your injector is crucial. Choose someone without the right expertise and it can lead to complications.

Problems like unevenness, overfilling or migration of the filler. Issues that might be difficult to reverse and can leave you feeling less confident than before. So choosing a qualified and experienced professional is essential. As a first step at least, to basically ensure the best and safest outcome.

Lip fillers are injectable treatments designed to add volume, shape and definition to the lips. Made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance naturally found in the body, these fillers provide a quick and effective solution for anyone looking to enhance their lips without the need for surgery. One of the biggest appeals of lip fillers is the immediate results. After a single 30-minute session, your lips will appear noticeably fuller and more defined.

The best part? The downtime is minimal. Most people can resume normal activities the next day, with only slight swelling lasting for around 1-2 days. The effects of lip fillers typically last up to six months, though this can vary depending on the product used and an individual’s metabolism. And with prices starting from £250 in reputable clinics, it is an accessible treatment for many looking to boost their lip volume.

The journey to fuller lips should always begin with a consultation. This is where you will discuss your goals with your injector. Preferably a doctor who will assess your lips and recommend the best approach. Whether you are after subtle enhancement or a more dramatic pout, your injector will tailor the treatment to suit your preferences.

Before the procedure, you will be asked to avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications for at least 24 hours. This is to reduce the risk of bruising. On the day of the treatment, a numbing cream will be applied to minimise discomfort. The filler, which contains a local anaesthetic, is then carefully injected into the lips, sculpting and shaping them for the desired effect.

After the treatment, there are a few simple aftercare steps to follow, such as avoiding makeup, rubbing the area, or exercise for the first 24-48 hours. Any swelling should subside within a day or two and a follow-up appointment in two weeks may be scheduled for touch-ups if necessary.

Different Techniques for Tailored Results

Lip fillers are not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Depending on what one is going for, there are different techniques to customize the results with the following: Lip Flip: this includes a tiny dose of Botox in the upper lip, creating an appearance of a fuller upper lip without adding a lot of volume. The Cupid's Bow Enhancement focuses on defining the Cupid's bow, adding a more contoured look.

Russian Lip Technique: This technique will help mold flat and heart-shaped lips by providing more considerable vertical height with less outward projection.

Cannula Method: This utilizes a blunt-tipped cannula instead of a sharp needle so that bruising is reduced and offers a lot of precision in contouring the lip shape.

Of the techniques mentioned, your injector will find the most applicable to work on your lips and what you wish to achieve.

While the allure of quick and easy results is tempting, it is vital to choose a skilled professional to administer your lip fillers. Unfortunately, not all practitioners are created equal and going with someone underqualified can result in a range of complications. Poorly injected fillers can lead to:
  • Filler migration can occur when the filler moves beyond the lips, causing a distorted appearance. Correcting this may require dissolving and reapplying the product.
  • Lumps or bumps also known as uneven distribution of the filler can make the lips look unnatural or strange.
  • Overfilling is a common mistake. Inexperienced injectors may inject too much filler. This is leading to an exaggerated and often undesirable look.
  • Some minor bruising and swelling is normal but improper injection techniques can lead to more extensive and longer-lasting side effects.
When performed by a qualified expert, non-surgical lip augmentation is a safe and effective way to enhance your lips. Beware of people using sub-standard products. If the price of the treatment is very low, think how the company can afford it. It is usually by using sub-standard fillers, often brought from places like China, where there are less restrictions on some beauty products. They can be dangerous.

Hyaluronic acid-based fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane, are the go-to products in the industry. Why? Because of their natural composition and ability to provide long-lasting results. They also contain lidocaine to ensure minimal discomfort during the procedure. These products integrate smoothly with your natural lip tissue, allowing for natural-looking enhancement that complements your facial features. They are tried and tested and deemed safe, so this is an excellent first step to ensure a good result.

Another advantage of using high-quality fillers is the ease with which they can be dissolved if necessary. This gives extra peace of mind if someone wants to reverse or adjust the results.

The Role of Expertise in Lip Filler Treatments

After all, the ultimate outcome of this lip filler procedure relies so much on the injector's expertise and knowledge. While beauty clinics and salons lull you with some easy fixes at bargain prices, do remember that lip fillers constitute a real medical procedure. The safest and most reliable results come through a medical professional, doctor or trained aesthetic practitioner, who understands the facial anatomy and knows how to avoid potential risks.

When done correctly, lip fillers can enhance your natural beauty, giving you the confidence to embrace your new look. Whether you want a subtle lift or a bold, voluminous pout, make sure you choose a skilled injector who can deliver the results you desire safely and effectively.

Lip fillers are a fantastic (perhaps the best) way to achieve fuller, more defined lips, but the choice of clinic and the product used are very important. Always ensure you choose a qualified professional to minimise risks and ensure the best possible results. Especially in London, there are so many excellent clinics for lip fillers. Choose the right one for you.
