Hair Care Dupe Gift Sets 2023

Everyone seems to be enamoured with the Olaplex System and for those who have hair that it works with and for, I can see why, for me, it seems almost too heavy feeling. As always, there is a whole host of alternatives out there to be found, from the likes of L'Oreal Paris Elvive Bond Repair System to the two offerings I am sharing today.
Hair Care Dupe Gift Sets 2023
Starting with my beloved Aldi and their beauty brand Lacura. It has been well documented that Lacura Bonded Hair care products are similar to Olaplex, albeit, it is pried at a much more competitive price.

For Christmas, Lacura is releasing the Bonded Gift Set (£9.99) and inside, it offers the ultimate hair care experience.
Hair Care Dupe Gift Sets 2023
Inside this gift set, you will find:
  • Bonded Pre-Wash Hair Treatment (100ml),
  • Bonded Moisture Mask (50ml)
  • Bonded Hair Oil (20ml).
  • White hair scrunchie
The hydrating Bonded Hair Oil is a brand new launch, it hasn't been released until now and is definitely a product to look out for.

Then the second collection of products is from a brand I have used before and one which has impressed me and that is The Plex System and it is one you can find in both B&M and Savers.
Hair Care Dupe Gift Sets 2023
The New PlexSystem range has launched with a five step programme and with it, a whole host of scientific formulations that are designed to harness a ‘Smoothing Infusion’ to restore and protect damaged hair. It is a five-step routine, featuring five full sized products and inside this gift box you will find the following:
  • 1. Cleansing Shampoo
  • 2. Nourishing Hair Mask
  • 3. Hydrating Conditioner
  • 4. Restoring Hair Oil
  • 5. Styling Hair Serum
This collection will be priced around £9.99, so again it is a great little money saver and a great gift for those who love their hair care products.

L’Oréal Paris Elvive Bond Repair Collection

The latest hair care launch from L’Oréal Paris Elvive has been likened to the cult brand that is the Olaplex hair care range. Meet Bond Repair, a collection of four products - pre-shampoo treatment, shampoo, conditioner and leave-in serum.
L’Oréal Paris Elvive Bond Repair Collection
Described as being their deepest set of repair products to instantly transform your hair, the key ingredient here is a citric acid complex, which recreates bonds deep within the hair’s cortex and the four-step routine helps to rebuild broken bonds from the inside out.

The four products should ideally be used together to create a hair care range which lets the ingredients work as they are designed too.  I find Olaplex a bit of a nightmare for my hair, it feels too heavy and my scalp isn't really a fan. The last time I ventured into a hair salon, over a year ago, my stylist used only Olaplex from 0 right through to the oil and I just didn't like how my hair felt afterwards, but this collection my hair love.

The first product is the L’Oréal Bond Repair Pre-Shampoo Treatment - the first step of your routine and it is an intensive rinse-off treatment, enriched with 12% Citric Acid Complex and should be used before shampooing. The guidance is to apply generous amounts to damp hair right from the scalp to the ends and leave it to work its magic for five minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

After rinsing out the Pre-Shampoo Treatment, the second product within this routine is the L’Oréal Bond Repair Shampoo.  The shampoo is enriched with 5% Citric Acid Complex and it is designed to gently cleanse and reinforce inner broken hair bonds, plus, it is also sulphate-free. When applied and massaged into the hair, it cleanses as the lather is created and as it is rinsed from your hair, already there is a softness.  Depending on how my hair feels, I do double shampoo, but not always.

After shampooing, the next product is the  L’Oréal Bond  Repair Conditioner and this is the third step of the Bond Repair haircare routine. Enriched with 10% Citric Acid Complex and it is designed to seal the cuticle for maximum care and rebuilds inner broken hair bonds. For this product, you need a very small amount of this creamy conditioner to work it through the ends of your hair. Again, the advice is to leave on for three minutes to work its magic and then rinse out making sure the water runs clean, this helps to ensure you have no product left in your hair.

At this stage, my hair feels soft and smooth and definitely not tangled, so since using this trio of products, ive never had the dread of having to de-tangle my hair. But the magic comes with the fourth and final product.

The L’Oréal Bond Repair Leave-In Serum is enriched with 20% Citric Acid Complex designed to shield hair bonds and enhance softness and shine. To use, you need to just rub two drops of the serum between the palm of your hands and then apply evenly through the lengths and ends of your hair, either when it is wet or when it is dry hair. Designed to be the product that gives the finishing touch in your routine for maximum shine and heat protection, I use this serum before blow drying my hair as I find it works better for me in doing this because it not only tames my fly-aways and doesn't add static, my hair is silky smooth, de-tangled and a breeze to style.

Overall, I think this is a brilliant collection of products and I love using them on my hair. For clarity, I don't use them every time I wash my hair, usually when I am going on a night out or just feel my hair needs something extra.  Each product within this collection is priced from £11.99 but right now at Boots, you can buy the full routine bundle for just £27 or buy the products you really like the sound of for half price.

How to Pack the Perfect Hair Care Routine for Your Next Vacation?

Maintain a stunning appearance with your hair whenever you travel, whether it's for a short vacation or an extended stay overseas! Here are a few top suggestions for packing that will keep your bag portable and your tresses look great.
How to Pack the Perfect Hair Care Routine for Your Next Vacation?

Do you have any upcoming travel plans? Even if the notion of traveling abroad is life's most exciting feeling, organizing is rarely straightforward, whether it a bucket list holiday or a more affordable beach vacation package, there are a number of different considerations that should be addressed while deciding what one should bring for vacation, along with what to keep at home.

Everything comes down to making a list of what to bring and choosing what items will be most advantageous for you while vacationing. We'll offer you some advice on being organized on your subsequent getaway below.

Opt for the most coveted travel bag

It's crucial to choose a bag that can fit your essentials, such as a comb, hair setting spray, hair serum, and other requirements, but doesn't seem so big that you'll find yourself stuffing it full of things. A small travel bag is adequately sized for keeping your hair care essentials, which should be made of durable plastic and showcase a flat bottom for storing your bottles upright. This bag is mostly appropriate to go for a cruise vacation. If you’re cruising from Seattle, you can consider this travel-friendly bag to keep your hair care products inside & pop right.

Target for travel-friendly bottles

If you decide against checking a bag, be sure to adhere to the TSA's 3-1-1 liquids limit. You are permitted to bring along a carry-on bag:
  • Liquids in bottles weighing no more than 3.4 ounces each.
  • 1 quart-sized transparent zip bag
  • Per traveler, a single bag
Hunt for the hair care essentials, which are 2 ounces or less. You can combine your preferred items in this way to make your baggage light or sail past the TSA screening!

Pack multiple-purpose styling items in a bag

Based on the destination you are traveling to, it is an excellent plan to pack items that may be employed in a variety of manners to address a variety of hair difficulties. One never knows when they might require some additional frizz defense!

Never forget dry shampoo

Dry shampoo is a great addition to your vacation hair kit, even if it isn't strictly an integral component of the vacation Combo. You may bring it because it doesn't exceed the TSA's fluid weight limit of 3 ounces.

Consider packing double-duty hair tools

The most important thing to remember if you are going abroad is to pack a converter made for the nation you are visiting. By doing this, you can make use of your style tools without difficulty. Try using a hair styling iron that can straighten and curl your locks in lieu of various style products.

Clothes are a must and are going to take up plenty of room in the luggage, but what about your beauty products and hairdressing items? Even if you're travelling, you nonetheless desire to enjoy some of the comforts of home. So, it’s hoped that these tips to pack the perfect hair care regimen for your next vacation will help!

How to Stop Hair Loss in Its Tracks: Top Treatments to Try in 2023

Hair loss and balding can affect anyone, and it tends to knock your confidence down many pegs once it happens. While some are happy enough to fully embrace the change by making a bald head their new look, not all are happy about it. If losing your hair is stressing you out, and you don’t want to rock a shaved head, don’t worry. You can take several steps to completely change your look and ensure you remain with a stunning, full head of hair.
How to Stop Hair Loss in Its Tracks: Top Treatments to Try in 2023

Start By Understanding Why Your Hair is Falling Out

While genetics plays a huge part in whether you maintain your full head of hair as you age or not, there are several other causes that need to be ruled out. Hormonal imbalances and changes, for example, frequently result in hair loss. That’s why pregnant women and women going through menopause may notice their hair falling out more regularly, to the point where they now have to deal with bald patches. The good news is that, as your hormones stabilize, your hair should grow back. It’s not, however, a guarantee.

Medication, medical conditions, stress – all of these can cause hair loss. If you want to ensure that your hair retention efforts work as well as possible, go to a doctor to get to the bottom of your hair loss and work from there.

How to Stop Hair Loss in Its Tracks

Medication
There is medication out there that may be able to stop your hair loss in its tracks. These medications inhibit the conversion of testosterone into DHT, which is a leading cause for balding in women and in hereditary cases. Do keep in mind this medication only works to slow or stop hair loss. It cannot help you regrow your hair.

Hair Transplants
If you want to return hair growth to areas that stopped seeing new growth altogether, you’ll need a hair transplant. Hair transplants for both men and women are one of the most popular treatment options available at hshairclinic.co.uk in Dubai. How much the treatment costs depends entirely on how much hair you need to be replaced. If you have light thinning or your hairline has receded, your efforts will not only take less time but also cost less.

Other Hair Options
You can mimic the look of real hair in several ways. Hair loss treatments are another option, which involve stem cell hair growth serums to target hair shedding and stimulate hair follicle growth. One of the easiest is Advanced Tricho Pigmentation, which essentially works to mimic the look of real hair follicles growing on your scalp. The goal is to help mimic the look of a close shave, even if your hair itself doesn’t actually grow there anymore.

You can also get a wig made for you. Getting one made with real human hair and designed with your head in mind can help you reclaim a full head of hair with natural-looking results. You will need to learn how to properly put your wig on so that you can move your hair around with ease naturally and not have anything fall out of place. If you’re expecting sudden hair loss (for example, going through chemo), you can even use your existing hair to create your own custom wig.

Good Gracious Haircare

Meet Good Gracious, a newly launched haircare brand that is sold on the highstreet. Made up of three different ranges, Good Gracious is made from 97% natural ingredients, is vegan friendly, not tested on animals, free from parabens, petrochemicals, silicone and mineral oils and is priced around £5!
Good Gracious Haircare
The range from Good Gracious comprises 7 different lines including
  • 3 x shampoo – Smooth & Hydrate, Intense Repair, Colour Care
  • 3 x conditioner – Smooth & Hydrate, Intense Repair, Colour Care
  • 1 x Crown of Glory Hair Mask
I was kindly sent the Good Gracious Smooth & Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner to try but, if you go over to my Instagram account, there is a competition giving you the chance to win one of each of their 7 products.

So what are the products

Starting with the Good Gracious Crown of Glory Repair Mask - Enriched with Coconut Oil, this mask is described a being the Queen of hair masks and the one you need when your hair is in need of some TLC. Designed to deeply nourish and repair dry, damaged hair, this mask will leave your hair feeling fabulously smooth, soft and super-shiny. In other words, fit for royalty. £6.50 (300ml).

From here the shampoo and Conditioner sets can be spotted due to their colour pairings of Pink, Purple and Orange.

Starting with Pink we have the Good Gracious Colour Care Shampoo and Good Gracious Colour Care Conditioner both 400ml and 25oml respectively and £5 each.

The is clearly the range you need to enhance your hair colour and again, infused with Coconut Oil, Vitamins C and E and green tea, not only will this duo work to enhance and protect colour but also to give you that radiant, glamorous and glossy finish.

Up next we have Orange and this time it is the Good Gracious Intense Repair Shampoo and Good Gracious Intense Repair Conditioner  and again both 400ml and 25oml respectively and £5 each.

Described as being the duo to give your hair its mojo back as well as a new lease of life, this intense repair range is infused with Argan Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Almond Milk for deep hydration. Perfect for hair that is dry, damaged and brittle, this duo is said to give you feel-good hair all day long.

Then finally we have the Purple Ones which are the ones I have been using Good Gracious Smooth & Hydrate Shampoo and Good Gracious Smooth & Hydrate Conditioner.
Good Gracious Haircare
Smelling absolutely delightful, this duo is said to be the one that helps you to say goodbye to sad, dry and thirsty hair and instead to say hello to happy, shiny hair. Infused with Shea Butter, Omega oils and Ceramides, the shampoo for this duo is lightweight and lathers like a dream, it doesn't leave you hair feeling lank or in need of a further wash and it doesn't dry out my scalp, the conditioner is slightly thicker, so a little goes a long way and it also doesn't leave my hair feeling as though I haven't washed it.  After rinsing out, my hair is soft and easy to comb through with no knots or tangles and the scent, it is divine.  As someone who loves discovering new hair care, at these prices, it is worth heading to Tesco to grab them quick!

Again with this range the Shampoo at 400ml is just £5.00 and the Conditioner is 250ml and £5.00.

The range is currently available in-store and online at Tesco.

NEW PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion Hair Care Range

Meet the NEW PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion range from HeadShock. For anyone who is a fan of Olaplex but finds it a little too expensive, or indeed isn't a fan and has always been intrigued, then I have a treat for you.
NEW PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion Hair Care Range
The New PlexSystem range has launched with a five step programme and with it, a whole host of scientific formulations that are designed to harness a ‘Smoothing Infusion’ to restore and protect damaged hair.

For me, I have hair that is referred to as combination, so I have oily roots and dry ends, plus if ever I am stressed, run down or really just not feeling myself, my scalp is known to give me a little bit of grief as well.  I have used Olaplex quite a few times and I find it quite heavy for my hair and it just doesn't do me any favours at all, so I am always looking for an alternative to give me that just left the salon looking hair!
NEW PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion Hair Care Range
The PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion range is really affordable, (by that I mean £4.99 per product), 5-step hair bonding regime that targets damaged hair to boost shine, texture and manageability to restore damaged hair to its smoothest, healthiest best requires powerful moisturising actives, micro-nutrients, proteins, and oils.

Putting all that together, this combination is said to work across multiple challenges to tackle split ends, dullness, tangles and roughness. To make it so brilliant, the PlexSystem combines the high-performing actives that are needed to address the issues of damaged hair, so key ingredients such as:
  • Pro-Vitamin B5, said to be one of the few vitamins that can penetrate deeply to nourish the hair cortex and scalp,
  • Avena Sativa (Oat), which is rich in micronutrients,
  • Saponin, Beta-Glucan and proteins to condition, smooth and strengthen hair. Botanical oils including Chia Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil and Argan Oil have been added for their nourishing and restorative properties, helping brittle hair regain its elasticity and shine whilst reducing frizz.
Putting all of those together, these hero ingredients come together to work to rescue damaged hair by:
  • Deeply hydrating and nourishing
  • Helping restore damaged hair cuticles, helping brittle hair regain its elasticity
  • Strengthening hairs for a more supple and reinforced hair feeling
  • Helping protect hair from further damage.
Sp, the PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion range is a 5-step system that includes a shampoo, conditioner, a mask, an oil and a serum and they are designed to work together as routine to give you the best possible hair care routine - admittedly I have used them together and separately to give them a try.

STEP 1 – RINSE - PlexSystem Cleansing Shampoo, RRP £4.50 for 250ml
This is a deep cleansing shampoo whose job it is to gently remove dirt and oil build-up from the hair and scalp. It uses Avena Sativa and Glycerin which help to hydrate and smooth the hair follicles whilst effectively removing build-up on the scalp. Then there is the inclusion of Pro-Vitamin B5 which adds shine for stronger and healthier-looking hair.

To use, ensure your hair is wet through and then you only need a walnut sized amount, depending on your hair and then work it through from your scalp to the ends.  I use a scalp brush

STEP 2 - PROTECT – PlexSystem Nourishing Hair Mask, RRP £4.50 100ml
After shampooing, instead of reaching for your conditioner, you use the mask.  Deeply nourishing, this treatment mask helps to rebuild and restore dry, damaged hair caused by frequent styling. It is specially formulated with Jojoba Oil, Avena Sativa and Glycerin and they come together to hydrate each strand of hair by penetrating deep into the hair structure which in turn strengthens and leaves the hair feeling and looking smoother with enhanced shine. To us, apply and leave on for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

This is a mask that packs a punch and it is the one step I use once a week, rather than every time I wash my hair, and what it does is really give my hair that soft, sleek feel.

STEP 3 – RESTORE - PlexSystem Hydrating Conditioner, RRP £4.50 250ml
This is a wonderfully nourishing conditioner and its job is to infuse hydration back into hair that is dry and lacklustre. Using Glycerin for hydration, Chia Seed Oil to lock in moisture and Pro-Vitamin B5 help to strengthen damaged hair, enhancing smoothness and shine.

This is a conditioner that does what it says and without weighing the hair down or leaving it feeling lank and in need of washing all over again. To be used on the lengths and ends, once applied, I leave it for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water.

At this stage, everything to wash and condion your hair in the shower has been completed and there is only two stages left and how you use them is down to what you feel your hair needs.

STEP 4 – SHINE - PlexSystem Restoring Hair Oil, RRP £4.50 30ml
This is a rich treatment oil which works to boost life back into your hair. It has been formulated with a host of amazing ingredients which includes Vitamin E, Sweet Almond and Chia Seed Oils.

You can use this formula on damp or dry hair depending on your preference and you need just a few drops into the palms of your hand to smooth and work through your hair.  This oil also helps to restore those dry hair cuticles by strengthening the hair structure and at the same time preventing the appearance of split ends.

STEP 5 – FINISH - PlexSystem Hair Styling Serum, RRP £4.50 90ml
This is a really lightweight styling serum which doesn't weigh the hair down or leave it feeling greasy to the touch, which for someone with greasy hair, is a relief. Again it is packed full of amazing ingredients such as Avena Sativa and Pro-Vitamin B5 so it  helps to control frizz and tame flyaways while  at the same time adding shine and prolonging your style.

I only need one pump of this serum which I work through my hair using my fingers to comb it through and with whatever is left on my hands, I use to smooth down the flyaways around the front of my hair line.

I am really impressed with this Plexsystem range and I hadn't expected to be at all.  For me, this is a range of products that I use when I want to style my hair without all the angst of dealing with dry, unmanageable hair that won't hold its curl or is a nightmare to smooth so I can straighten it.

The NEW HeadShock PlexSystem Smoothing Infusion range is available in both B&M and Savers.

Moo & Yoo Vegan Haircare

I love it when a brand has a really good background to share and Moo & Yoo is one of them. Created by Suzie who became increasingly frustrated that many of the salon products she was using, as a hair stylist and salon owner, were too harsh and irritated her skin. So, she joined forces with hr daughter Olivia to create their own solution, bringing gentle and natural products in fully recyclable glass bottles and jars to UK salons and customers - Meet Moo & Yoo.
Moo & Yoo Vegan Haircare
I was kindly gifted three products from what is, a very extensive range of hair care, body care as well as some lifestyle products - think candles and hair brushes.   The three products, shown above, look and feel luxurious as they are housed in wonderfully heavy glass bottles, making them recyclable and everything you need to know about the product is written there.

If you're not sure which hair care products you need to be using, then helpfully there is a hair care quiz to try and it is really helpful to go through to narrow down your options.

I have The Miracle Shampoo which is described as being a cleansing, gentle and nourishing product for all hair types.  This bottle, as you can see, comes with a pump action dispenser which is really handy for using and I find two pumps is enough for my hair.
Moo & Yoo Vegan Haircare
This is a lightweight silky shampoo which really leaves your hair feeling clean, soft and nourished. It has been almost 9 months since I have been into a salon, so my hair needs all the TLC it can get and thankfully this collection ticks boxes. Kind to the scalp, it causes no irritation it uses natural Marula oil and Icelandic moss which also protect the hair from the damaging effects of UV exposure and environmental toxins.

The advice before using this shampoo, other than to ensure your hair is thoroughly soaked through, is to shake it really well because it is a natural product and could separate.

Following on from the Miracle Shampoo comes the Miracle Conditioner and again, as you can see, it comes packaged in a matching glass bottle with a dispenser too.
Moo & Yoo Vegan Haircare
Again, this is a really lightweight conditioner, which whist slightly thicker in texture than the shampoo, doesn't weight the hair down or leave it feeling greasy. Its job is to nourish and protect the hair leaving which it does, but at the same time, mine is left feeling so hydrated, soft to the touch and almost frizz free, just those pesky baby hairs that refuse to pipe down.

In the conditioner we also see the same use of both Marula oil and Icelandic moss which lock-in moisture, promote shine and also protect the hair from the damaging effects of UV exposure and environmental toxins.

If your hair is in real need of some TLC, then the Miracle Mask is an absolute must try hair mask. I try to remember to use a hair mask at least once a week, if not every 2 weeks because my hair is just dreadful otherwise.
Moo & Yoo Vegan Haircare
Moo & Yoo Vegan Haircare
The Masks job is to leave your hair feeling rehydrated, silky and shiny as it repairs and strengthens, seals the hairs cuticle and helps to try and banish those pesky dry and frizzy ends.

This is a really rich and nourishing hair mask and I use around a table spoon of the mask on my lengths and ends and leave it to work for around 5 minutes before I rinse it out, but if I want to really get the most out of this mask, I apply a thicker layer to my entire hair and then cover it with my shower cap and let it work for around 15 minutes before rinsing it out.

Again, the ingredients within this mask is Marula oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Icelandic moss which not only lock-in moisture but also work to protect from the effects of UV exposure and environmental toxins.

A really lovely brand to get to know and absolutely one that you should be looking to try, especially if you want the more natural, vegan and cruelty free products.

Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp Hair Care Collection

Hair Care and Scalp Care are two things I really make the effort with, especially since having Covid when I noticed my hair was falling out more than usual. If I am feeling under the weather, my scalp itches, it is one of the signs I am stressed, unwell and in some cases, used a product that just isn't right for me.
Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp
For the last few months, I switched from using my trusted Ginger Shampoo, to the Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp Range. This Clean Beauty Scalp range is made up of a 3-part system infused with gentle botanicals that are said to help calm and re-balance all scalp types, especially dry, oily or sensitive conditions, with instant relief while at the same time, strengthening and nourishing hair.

The first product within this trio is the Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp Therapy Shampoo and it is described as being a nutrient-rich, vegan shampoo formulated to clarify your hair and scalp.Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp
Formulated for dry, oily or sensitive scalps, the vegan formula work to remove both impurities and build-up, while at the same time nourishing with a blend of nutrient-rich ingredients.

I really like the lightweight formula of this shampoo, you need just a small amount to create a really good lather and it smells really fresh and clean too.  The formula is infused with grapevine sap and soothing chamomile extract to cleanse and clarify, while zinc helps to remove excess oil. Suitable for colour-treated hair, the shampoo leaves your hair and scalp feeling refreshed and replenished.

As with the shampoo, this is a nutrient-rich conditioner formulated to clarify and nourish your scalp and hair as it delivers a nutrient-rich blend to nourish your hair and scalp.
Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp
Again, this conditioner has a really lightweight formula which doesn't feel heavy when applied to the hair and, as with the shampoo, it is enriched with grapevine sap and soothing chamomile extract which work to gently clarify and condition, while at the same time, zinc, which helps to remove excess oil and visibly strengthen hair.

Then finally we have the Clean Beauty Scalp Therapy Drops and these are my favourite product from the three so far.
Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp
Paul Mitchell Clean Beauty Scalp
Using the pipette, the advice with these drops is to section your hair and then apply 3ml to a clean scalp and massage in circular motions to help evenly distribute, and this is a non-rinse out product too.

Using Scalp-soothing formulas which features nourishing grapevine sap to provide a balanced blend of minerals, amino acids and other essential nutrients to help improve the appearance of the scalp and hair, as well as antioxidant-rich chamomile extract which is packed with antioxidants and polyphenols to help soothe the scalp and nourish hair.  These drops also come with a really soft scent that has hints of citrus, delicate florals and a powdery finish, not too overpowering and hasn't irritated my scalp.

What I enjoy about the Scalp Drops is that they don't leave my hair looking greasy when applied, they're easy to use and actually soothe and calm an irritated scalp.

If you find your hair and scalp has become a little sensitive of late, then this is a great collection of products to try, especially the drops because you can just apply them when you need to or daily, which is the advice.

Hair Wellness is a phrase you will hear a lot about, it is much more than just hair care for many brands, including Vegamour, a brand created by Dan Hodgdon, a man who comes from a long line of New England dairy farmers. How are the two related you might ask? Well read on to find out more.
Hair Wellness with Vegamour
Vegamour is described as having an holistic approach to hair wellness and it works to incorporate clinically tested plant-based ingredients that work in tandem to promote healthy, beautiful hair naturally, all without the use of harmful chemicals or short-term ‘fixes’ that can lead to long-term problems.

Hair wellness & growth are no different. It’s not about any single ingredient or method. Like grassy fields of alfalfa on the farm, hair naturally grows and thrives when everything in its surrounding environment (its ecosystem) is also healthy, thereby contributing to its overall density, smoothness and shine.

With a commitment to creating high-quality, plant-based products, Vegamour has an extensive range of hair care products which, as you might expect, includes shampoo, conditioner, masks and of course hair serums, all of which are categorised under different concerns:
  • Dandruff
  • Hair Loss
  • Hair Growth
  • Greying
  • Dullness & damage
For me, I have hair which since having Covid has thinned but it has always been described as combination - think oily roots, dry ends and a scalp, which depending on how I am feeling, can become irritated, so from Vegamour there is a wide range of products that suit my hair concerns perfectly. There are two stand out choices from a wide range of products available and they are - GRO Essentials Kit and GRO Hair Serum Pack which together target all of my needs above.

Starting with the GRO Essentials Kit which is made up of the GRO Hair Serum, and GRO Revitalising Shampoo & Conditioner, it has been formulated using powerful plant-based phytopactives which work to not only target the signs of hair shedding and thinning but, with the inclusion vegan Karmatin™ Protein Peptide which penetrates the scalp and bonds to hair, it turn works to nourish and promote thicker, fuller, healthier looking hair. Then with the GRO Serum that increases the appearance of hair density, while reducing signs of shedding with clinically-proven results in as soon as 90 days

Then there is the GRO Hair Serum (3 Pack) which is described as being a highly effective vegan serum that increases the appearance of hair density while reducing signs of shedding to promote thicker-, fuller-looking hair. Over time, I have used serums to help treat my scalp when it has become irritated with varying degrees of success, so serums have become an integral part of my hair care routine.

Again, this Hair Serum, as with the shampoo and conditioner has been formulated with that proprietary plant-based, cruelty-free formula which has been enhanced with the powerful new phyto-actives to protect and strengthen your strands to bring you thicker, fuller hair as well as the inclusion of:
Curcuma longa (Turmeric): Said to Clinically shown to promote an epigenetic reset of the dermal papilla cells.
  • N. Benthamiana: Known to support the anagen (growth) hair cycle while visibly thickening roots.
  • Red Clover, Mung Bean Stem Cell Extract: Shown through in-vitro testing to help target key hair loss causes.
Designed to be applied daily to help visibly increase the hairs density whilst at the same time reducing hair loss and it doesn’t leave a greasy trail in its wake, which is a huge plus.

It is also worth mentioning that Vegamour products are cruelty-free (Leaping Bunny) and 100% vegan and are made without the use of harmful chemicals or short-term ‘fixes’ that can lead to long-term problems.

New from UpCircle Beauty

With the tagline 'Natural skincare with upcycled ingredients', Upcircle is a brand to watch because over the last few years, there has been some pretty incredibly products launching and today I am sharing two of them with you.
New from UpCircle Beauty
From candles and scrubs to bath salts and face masks, there is now a Shampoo Crème and Face Cleanser being added to the product line-up and they are like nothing else you will have tried.

The Shampoo Crème (£19.99), which comes packaged in a glass jar making it refillable, this shampoo crème is a hybrid of liquid and solid so its concentrated formula is said to deliver 3 times the washes of a liquid shampoo, which in turn means there is less waste than a shampoo bar usually due to the last slithers of the shampoo bar often being wasted.

As you might expect, this Shampoo Crème is a 100% natural shampoo with upcycled pink berry extract and alongside it you have Coconut Oil, Rosemary Oil, Grapefruit Peel Oil, Lavender Oil, Cedarwood Bark Oil, Clove Oil and Peppermint Oil, all of which come together to provide nourishment and it also works to protect against frizz and hair breakages.

As this Shampoo Crème is a concentrated paste, you don't need very much product at all.  The key to using this product is to ensure your hair and scalp is wet through and then all you need is a very small amount to massage into your scalp and hair and it lathers really easily leaving your hair and scalp feeling so lovely clean and refreshed.

The second product is the Face Cleanser (£19.99) with Oat Powder and Aloe Vera and again, this product has been designed in a pump action bottle to make it much easier to dispense and use.

This gentle formula is also enriched with powerful yet natural ingredients, including upcycled oat powder, soothing aloe vera, nourishing jojoba oil, and hydrating shea butter which works to repair and restore the skin’s moisture barrier as it cleanses the skin. Suitable for all skin types, this everyday vegan facial cleanser.

Dermatologically approved, this cleanser is luxurious and it leaves your skin soft and smooth to the touch. I have been using this as a morning cleanse for weeks now and it is a delight to use.

If you are ready to switch up your hair and skin care and want to be plastic free, environmentally friendly and give back, then Upcircle has an amazing story to share.

FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask

I try and ensure I use a hair mask at least once every two weeks, depending on how my hair is feeling. Living in London, the pollution, smog and general air can make the hair feel dirty, plus living in a hard water area, I find I am having to wash my hair more frequently than I would like.  I was sent the FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask to try and I can see why it is loved.
FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask
The FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask is perfect for all types, especially dry and damaged hair.  As a conditioning treatment, this product is designed to deeply moisturise and nourish the hair thanks to an amazing set of ingredients. This mask contains a blend of natural ingredients which includes shea butter, Coconut oil, avocado oil, and argan oil which come together to hydrate and strengthen hair from the inside out, leaving it less frizzy and more nourished thanks to the inclusion of the frizz-banishing ingredient VARISOFT® BT85 which conditions your hair and minimise static.

To use the FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask, the advice is to firstly shampoo your hair and rinse it thoroughly to ensure your hair is clean and then, apply the mask generously to your hair, focusing on the ends and any particular dry or damaged areas. Texture wise, this lightweight, almost jelly like texture does not weigh the hair down and nor is it sticky, tacky or so heavy it leaves the hair feeling lank. The best past about this product is that you can either leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes, or you can leave it for longer, including overnight for even deeper conditioning, then rinse it out thoroughly with warm water and style as normal.  This mask, whilst free from parabens, sulfates, and other harmful chemicals, it is also a  pH balanced formula and is safe and effective for those of use who suffer with scalp issues but also safe for use on coloured hair too.

The FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask is 100% vegan, cruelty free and also made from 94% naturally derived ingredients and it also happens to smell incredible. This mask features a blend of rich plum top notes, soft jasmine middle notes and comforting musk base notes, meaning it’s a treat for your senses as well as your hair!

Priced at £32, this mask is everything it promises to be and is an amazing treat for your hair.
