Merci Handy team up with CoppaFeel

I have featured many Merci Handy products on my blog (here and here) and when I heard they were to team up with CoppaFeel, I was intrigued as to how. Merci Handy, if you have never heard of them are a brand who produce the most incredible Hand Sanitizers and Facial Mists and they are designed to fit in your pocket or your handbag.

Merci Handy team up with CoppaFeel
CoppaFeel aims to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer by ensuring that people know that signs and symptoms of breast cancer, know what their boobs look and feel like normally, check their boobs regularly throughout their lifetime and have the confidence to seek medical referral when they detect abnormalities. Currently, just 5% of diagnosed cases are already at stage IV with breast cancer being the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in women under 30 in the UK (181 new cases diagnosed and 12 deaths annually). CoppaFeel! strives for a country where no one dies of breast cancer because of late detection or misdiagnosis and you can read more about them here.

So the coming together of these two brands is quite special I think. The Hand Santising Gel from Merci Handy is not only Limited Edition but 100% of the proceeds from this gel, which by the way has a Lollipop scent, will be donated to CoppaFeel.  The Gel comes dressed with an outer t-shirt top, which you remove to reveal a pair of boobs, fun and kooky but with quite a striking message.  You never can check enough.

Priced at just £2.90 for this 30ml you can get your hands on it right here.

I Love... Perfectly Peachy Bath & Shower Créme

Bath, body and beauty brand I Love… is one I am a big fan of, more so because last week I was invited along to see what was new for 2015.  The brand has become the first cosmetics company to commit to adding breast cancer awareness signs and symptoms labels to their limited edition Perfectly Peachy Bath and Shower Creme as part of he charity CoppaFeel's new #SHOWERHIGHJACK campaign.  For those of you who read my blog regularly, will know how important I think the charity is, so I was delighted to learn that I Love had taken their mantra onboard.

#SHOWERHIJACK aims to unite the beauty industry into helping hijack women's showers nationwide to bring 'Copping a Feel' into your everyday routine.  Knowing what the symptoms and spotting the signs of breast cancer are, will hopefully become second nature to everyone once they are educated and understand what it is they need to be looking for and the most common place to look and to check your own is whilst in the shower.  To help you do that, on the back of the bottle is a handy little guide to show you what it is you should be looking for - very handy!

Kris Hallenga the Founder and CEO of CoppaFeel used the term 'peachy' as a description for her boobs and so Perfectly Peachy the bath and shower crème was born.  The product itself smells of fresh peaches and it is packed with pro Vitamin B5 to help keep your skin and body feeling nourished and moisturised, not to mention soft and supple.  I adore the scent and it lingers on the skin for a good few hours after using it.

Launching in March with an RRP £2.99 this is one scent I can guarantee you will love.

Birchbox Supporting CoppaFeel!

I have just received the October box for Birchbox and it is absolutely fantastic again this month! Supporting CoppaFeel!, whom if you haven't read the few posts ive done about them here is a little background to them.

CoppaFeel! aims to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer by ensuring that people know that signs and symptoms of breast cancer, know what their boobs look and feel like normally, check their boobs regularly throughout their lifetime and have the confidence to seek medical referral when they detect abnormalities. Currently 5% of diagnosed cases are already at stage IV with breast cancer being the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in women under 30 in the UK (181 new cases diagnosed and 12 deaths annually). CoppaFeel! strives for a country where no one dies of breast cancer because of late detection or misdiagnosis. The charity receives no government funding and relies solely on voluntary donations.  As October is Breast Cancer awareness month, this is such a good idea of Birchbox to do a collaboration.

Inside the box this time as you can see, there is this amazing pink make-up bag which is the perfect size for fitting everything within the box in it! The idea behind the products is to focus inward on health and wellbeing with the products to help you 'work it' and to get motivated to tackle whatever your day brings.  So inside my box there is:

KMS California Free Shape Hot flex Creme - Apply it to towel dried hair and comb through before drying.  It is said to smooth curls, waves and/or frizz. This is a 50ml sample.

Cindy Crawford Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum - A Sumptuous radiance-enhancing anti-ageing serum to be used in the morning before your moisturiser or anytime for an instant pick-me-up.  This is an 8ml sample.

Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm - This is a nourshing cleanser which uses oatmeal powder to exfoliate dry and dead skincells. Perfect for normal-dry skin but also balances oily skin too.  This is a 40ml sample.

Shaveworks The Cool Fix - Said to be a genius cooling gel lotion that treats ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness after hair removal.  Can be used morning and evening until the redness fades.  This is a 29ml sample.

Pixie by Petra Shea Butter Lip Balm - I have Ripe Raspberry and when used on the lips it does leave a hint of colour which you can work up to a much bolder colour should you wish.  Using Shea butter, this lip balm leaves your lips feeling soft and smooth.

The final item is the Birchbox Lipstick pen which I love, it is such a brilliant extra item to have and one that will appeal to most beauty bloggers.

Finally the most important aspect of this box is Copping a Feel, knowing your Boobs can save your life!  Inside the box on the pink card is a little and it features some really useful and important information and this is it:

I hope everyone who got this box or who is reading this post looks at the instructions on this card and does CoppaFeel!  It is so important and as someone who has three friends at various stages with the disease, I can't tell you enough how important it is to check!

What do you think to this months Birchbox?

#whatnormalfeelslike

I have said it before, but will say it again. Breast cancer is an issue that is close to my heart. My best friend from my early school days died from the disease when she was in her early 20's and three current friends have it. Everyone it seems knows someone with the disease, has had the disease or is undergoing treatment from the disease.

CoppaFeel! aims to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer by ensuring that people know that signs and symptoms of breast cancer, know what their boobs look and feel like normally, check their boobs regularly throughout their lifetime and have the confidence to seek medical referral when they detect abnormalities.

To celebrate the launch of #whatnormalfeelslike, CoppaFeel!s new advertising campaign, the breast cancer awareness charity are opening an exciting pop-up in London’s Brick Lane in association with bath, body and beauty brand I Love…

Visitors to the pop up will be able to create their own campaign style shot in the ‘Boob Booth’, a specially created photo booth to capture your bare-chested beauty. All those that dare to bare will take home a CoppaFeel! goody bag full of beauty treats from I Love… and Balmi.

Lynda Matthews Head of Marketing for I Love… commented ‘I Love... are delighted to be collaborating with CoppaFeel! on this very special Pop-Up. As a brand, I Love appeals to young women and anything we can do to support the incredible work Kris and CoppaFeel! are doing to encourage breast cancer awareness is a positive thing. We want to get that conversation started to ensure that we can help women in the future feel confident about going to their doctor if they feel that something may be wrong. This is the first step in making that happen.

Open from 18th-21st September, it will exhibit original imagery from the campaign, which features seven bare-chested women, each body painted with the word that best describes how their boobs feel to them. Shot by British photographer Rankin and using words such as ‘squidgy’, ‘spongy’ and ‘bobbly’, the campaign calls on women to reclaim the vocabulary surrounding breasts and learn #whatnormalfeelslike for them. The cult East-London nail salon WAH Nails and Barry M will also be on hand, giving exclusive, complimentary CoppaFeel! inspired manicures Thursday and Friday.

On the Saturday and Sunday, Paul Mitchell and Vintage Hair stylist will be there creating classic up-dos.

The #whatnormalfeelslike campaign was born after months of research and conversations with women across the UK. The research showed that women age between 18-30 struggle to find words to describe their boobs beyond big or small. The reason being is that the sexualisation of boobs has led to women only thinking about theirs in terms of size. Therefore the purpose of this campaign is not only to inform young women that there are other words they can use to describe their boobs but to also help women reclaim the vocabulary so that they know #whatnormalfeelslike for them.

Kris Hallenga founded CoppaFeel! after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 23. One in eight women will be diagnosed with the disease at some stage in their life and CoppaFeel! aims to get the message out that the sooner we get checking, the sooner we get to know our boobs and are able to spot any changes.

Kris says; ‘We want to make it normal for girls to talk about their boobs. Society and the media think of breasts in a sexual way but by creating this campaign we want to give boobs back to women and encourage them to think and talk about them in terms beyond size. The more normal it is to talk about boobs, the more likely women are to check themselves regularly and spot any changes early.”

NOTW - Models Own Pink Punch

Friday I headed to Birchbox's Manithon to raise money for breast cancer charity Coppafeel. CoppaFeel! aims to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer by ensuring that people know that signs and symptoms of breast cancer, know what their boobs look and feel like normally, check their boobs regularly throughout their lifetime and have the confidence to seek medical referral when they detect abnormalities.

Taking place in Soho Square, just off Oxford Street, you couldn't help but recognize the Birchbox tent. There was a lot of little stations set up with teams of lovely ladies doing manicures. Models Own were there doing the nails so my manicure this week is courtesy of them.

I chose Pink Punch as my colour as it is something I would never normally choose and I just couldn't help but notice it standing out amongst the other shades.

After my nails had been filed, buffed, painted and then some lovely oil added to the cuticles, I was then able to go over to the Birchbox shop to select some samples which was quite exciting and a really nice touch.  There was seven different samples to choose from and I was lucky enough to be able to select four from this bunch:

And this is what I chose:

So as you can see I went for my Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream which is amazing, Benefit Porefessional as I have almost run out, Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath and Shower Oil and Lord and Berry Black Kohl Liner.  Plus there was an added extra of this Birchbox themed silk scarf in my little tote bag - how cute!
