Eve of St Agnes - Hydrating Facial Silk

Every so often the arrival of an email in my inbox grabs my attention instantly and that was definitely the case with Eve of St Agnes.  A company which was founded in 2011, Emma Heywood had a vision to create a skincare company that would give the finest quality, all- natural skincare products, with a commitment to sourcing the best natural and organic ingredients from Fairtrade and community projects from around the globe.  Having suffered from Eczema and dry skin and failing to find a skincare product which delivered on their promise, she decided to create her own - Eve of St Agnes.

I was very kindly sent the Hydrating Facial Silk which was so very beautifully wrapped and it offers the following description on the back of the very beautiful box:

"Our customers agree that silk is the perfect word to describe our moisturising cream. Can be used as a day or night cream and is perfect for normal, dry and mature skin types. Bursting with skin hydrating ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, (sometimes referred to as the fountain of youth!), our Facial Silk leaves skin feeling nourished, moisturised, smooth and incredibly soft"

Inside the cardboard box is a glass jar which replicates the beautifulness of the box and as soon as you remove the lid, the scent which hits you can only be described as stunning. It is packed full of goodness for your skin and includes ingredients such as Cocoa Butter, Macademia Seed Oil, Thistle Oil, Safflower Seed Oil not to mention Hyaluronic Acid, Frangipani, Champaca and Sweet Orange Oil to name just a few (the rest can be found listed online and on the product). Not only is it 99% natural it is:
  • Handmade in Britain
  • Free from artifical colours and fragrances
  • Not tested on animals
  • Free from Parabens
  • Free from Alcohol

The cream itself is exactly as described, like silk.  To use to simply apply it to your face and neck directly after cleansing, this cream can be used in the morning and night. It is so soft and smooth to the touch and as you apply it to your skin, the feeling is just so lovely, it glides on and instantly absorbs itself leaving no trace behind other than the lovely orangey scent that stays with you for a good few hours after application.

It also lives up to its claims of leaving your skin feeling nourished, moisturised, smooth and incredibly soft and given that I have been using this cream for the last month, I was told at a recent blogger event where I had my skin scanned to look for sun damage that my skin was in incredible condition and the most moisturised she had seen all day.

I really am excited about what else Eve of St Agnes has to offer, I absolutely love this cream (if you haven't guessed) and cannot wait to see where Emma and Eve of St Agnes go, definitely one to look out for and try!

Beluah-home - one to look out for!

One thing I always remember from my childhood is my mums passion for knitting, show her any pattern and she can copy it in its entirety, just before Christmas she handed me a king-size blanket for my bed which she had knitted and created herself and I absolutely adore it.

Knitting is once again fashionable, the number of people that I know who are learning, taking lessons or rediscovering their love of knitting is constantly growing and when you come across sites like Beulah-Home, I am almost tempted to pick up my knitting needles to see if I can remember how it is done, yes my mum also taught me to knit too.

Beulah-Home state that the are

“geared to meet all our customer’s needs for fashionable knitted homewares for the living space and everything is made is Britain”.

Just one look at the site and you can see for yourself that it is fashionable, contemporary and even traditional. The use of colour, textures, styles and patterns are one thing that jumps out to me and these are just a few of my favourite things

Beluah-home

Beulah-Home has one desire and that is to meet every household’s needs.  Their product base is quite extensive and it includes luxury knitted cushions and throws, fashionable knitted pet blankets and stylish yet soft knitted kids’ blankets and cushions, something for everyone and something for everywhere and everything is 100% crafted by hand, so when you do buy something, you know that someone has put a lot of love, care and effort into making that particular item.

Beulah-Home is definitely a new designer to watch out for and you can find more about them online via their homepage, Twitter  or Facebook.

Lily Lolo - my introduction!

I have seen Lily Lolo products on so many blogs but have never branched out and tried them myself, so when the chance to do just that was given to me, I jumped at the chance. They claim that "Whether your skin is dry, oily or anywhere in-between, Lily Lolo makeup will give you a light, flawless and seamless finish without clogging or irritating" which I am interested to check out.

Lily Lolo is a British brand launched by Vikki Khan in 2005. Named after her two sisters Lisa (Lily) and Lorraine (Lolo) though for some reason I keep calling it Lily Lilo, don't ask why!

Lily Lolo have just re-branded their make up range which you can see on their website and in recognition of that I was sent two of their products to try and review.

Lily Lolo

Natural Lip Gloss in English Rose (£7.99)** - I would describe this as being a dusky pink shade which looks really pink when you first apply it and then as it settled down it becomes quite a pale pink which I really like. It is perfect for wearing on its own or over the top of a pinky/nude lipstick to add a little glossy look. One of my bug bears with some lipglosses is the tacky feel they leave on your lips, this lip gloss doesn't have this *hurrah* it is not sticky at all, it simply glides on. This gloss does also contains Vitamin E and Jojoba oil to nourish and protect.

Mineral Eye Shadow in Miami Taupe (£5.99)** - This is most definitely the shade I would opt for, it is perfect for daytime or nighttime and one of those shades which you can have as a light coverage or build it up so that you can have a much deeper coverage, which to do you simply use it wet and the video I have mentioned below shows you how to do this. It is highly pigmented and as the shade suggests it is Taupe which is described as being a dusky browny grey shade or warm grey.

Now if like me you often struggle to decide how best to apply certain items of make-up, I was pleased to find that there are some really handy tutorials online, one of which you can see HERE

Which are your favourite Lily Lolo products?

The range itself is  BUAV approved as well as being free from parabens, synthetic fragrances, dyes, fillers and there is no animal testing.
