YNYS MON Pure Bath Salts

Baths Salts for me are one of those underrated beauty products we should all give more time and praise too.  They are something my Grandma used to rave about her bath salts and they are something ive totally ignored until recently.

Ynys Mon is a brand who caught my attention on Twitter.  They can be found on the Isle of Anglesey (which Ynys Mon means) and are a new and independent business who use their natural surroundings to create each product. Using ingredients which are paraben free, free from chemicals, fillers, compounds and perfume replacements, what you have is a selection of products which are designed to ensure that your home experience of using them is as good or better than those of your local spa.

I was kindly sent the Slumber Bath Salts which retail at £10 and are exceptionally good value for money. Described as being "A dreamy blend of oils renown for their relaxing and soothing qualities. Enjoy this blissful aromatherapy anytime you wish to unwind, settle and ease into a state of peaceful relaxation. Perfect for those who want to de-stress after a challenging day or need help to achieve a restful nights sleep". As soon as you twist off the lid, the first thing that hits you is the lovely scent of Lavender, which is one of those ingredients I absolutely adore for its relaxation properties and if you are good at detecting scents, Jasmine and Rose are also evident.

The bath salts also contain Dead Sea and Himalayan Salts which are packed full of beneficial nutrients and minerals which my skin and body absolutely loves. Himalayan salts are said to contain around 84 essential minerals that not only make skin baby-soft, but also efficiently detox the entire body. Add that to the Dead Sea Salts which contains Magnesium which is important for both combating stress and fluid retention, slowing skin aging and calming the nervous system. Calcium which is effective at preventing water retention, increasing circulation and strengthening bones and nails. Potassium which energizes the body, helps to balance skin moisture and is a crucial mineral to replenish following intense exercise. Bromides which act to ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles and finally Sodium, which is important for the lymphatic fluid balance (this in turn is important for immune system function). So with all of that, you know you have an amazing product.

I think by now you have been made aware that I am a huge fan of these bath salts.  Not only do they smell incredible but they are absolutely blissful to use. If you are stressed out and tired, but can't sleep or just need to relax, a handful of these in your bath will do your mind and body wonders, I find them incredibly relaxing as does the mister.

If Bath Salts aren't quite your thing but you like the sound of the range then fear not because the range is so extensive it includes Bath Bombs, Hand and Body Cream, Bath and Body Oils, Body Scrubs, Foot Scrubs, Seaweed Home Spa (this has my attention), Day Cream, Night Cream, Bath Soak and the option to create gift boxes.

You can find out more about Ynys Mon on Facebook or on Twitter too.

Burt's Bees Therapeutic Bath Crystals

I am a huge fan of Burt's Bee's products and I love everything from the Lip Gloss, Lip Balms, Hand Creams, Body Creams, Bath oils, Cuticle creams and pretty much everything I have tried to date.  Infact Burt's Bees are no stranger to my blog because I have mentioned quite a few of their products to date.  One product that I have been glad to be reunited with is then Burt's Bees Therapeutic Bath Crystals.

For those people who haven't heard of Burt's Bee's before, as a company they were born back in 1984 when they began selling beeswax candles fast-forward to 1989 when the company has grown and taken off as a brand, they stepped into the cosmetic industry and began to make cosmetics, starting with soaps and perfumes. Today they sell over 150 plus products around the world and like many companies within this market they use as many natural ingredients as they possibly can and they go one step further by ensuring that most of the packaging of their products is created from recycled materials as far as possible. You can now find products from Burt's Bee's for your lips, face, body, hair, hands and feet, for men and for babies to name but a few, so there is definitely something for everyone.

These bath salts used to be sold in a tin, similar in size to a tin of baked beans.  Fast forward a few years and now we have them sold inside this plastic tub instead.

These
Therapeutic Bath Crystals are to be used in your bath, now for my regular readers you will all know that I love baths, not only do I love them but I like them to be nice and hot because I an intending to spend more than an hour in one with my book, a chilled glass of wine and a facemask if I have one around. For me a bath is a luxury I look forward to. I have a stressful job and a stressful lifestyle and I do like to kick back and treat myself at least once a week to a self-indulgent bath.

Once the water in your bath has been running for a few minutes and there are several inches of water in the bottom, you only need to use 1-2 tablespoons, depending on how generous you want to be, I always use 2 and then let your bath finishing running and allow the salt crystals to dissolve into the water for a few minutes afterwards. The instructions with this product is that you need to spend approximately 15minutes in your bath to allow the salt crystals to work on your skin and body to "help release the lactic acid that builds up during physical activity causing muscle ache. The penetrating action of essential oils helps stimulate the elimination of waste products, helping muscles feel as good as new".

Once in the bath there are two aromas which work together, the first is Eucalyptus oil which helps to revive and relieve for tension-free muscles and the second is lemon oil many benefits particularly for the skin because it helps to decongest the skin and is especially useful for people who have greasy skin. It also helps clear the mind and relieve headaches.  Naturally this is not all the ingredients, added to those two are Soybean oil, which is used because it is a natural moisturiser which has a nourishing, softening and moisturizing effect on skin. Finally the most important ingredient is Sea Salt and it is one of those ingredients that is becoming more and more popular within bath products because it helps draw the toxins out of your skin thus leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed as well as soft and supple because it acts as an exfoliator which helps remove dirt and grime from your skin alongside dead skin cells and hard bits of skin which need to be removed. So adding off of these ingredients together, you have quite a product here.

How did I feel after my bath? Well my skin was most definitely soft and smooth to the touch and well moisturised and in myself I did feel much more relaxed and stress free and the fact I liked the fragrant aroma of this product is an added bonus because it isn't too over the top it is just right and it does also linger on your skin and throughout your home. As I said before to purchase this at full price, it is likely to set you back £10.99 for 450g but you only need to use a maximum of 2 tablespoons of it per bath and depending on how often you use it depends on how long it will last. I have had mine for just over two months and have used less than a third of the tub and there are two of us who use it. I store it on my bathroom shelf but ensure the lid is secured after using to ensure that it remains as fresh as possible and I suspect I have at least another 6 months use out of it.

For me this product is a lovely treat for my skin and something I recommend as an alternative to a body scrub or a sea salt treatment because it works just as well.  If you would like further information, you can click HERE

Introducing Coal Harbour!

I first noticed Coal Harbour via a giveaway they were hosting on Instagram and from there I found them on Facebook and then on Twitter.  Described as follows:

"Coal Harbour is the home of luxury bathing products. We ensure that all our products will leave you feeling pampered, renewed and more than a little special"

Their website is full of mouthwatering products which look good enough to eat, when actually what you do is enjoy them in the bath and what I like about them is their four main founding principles which are:
  • ALL products must be handmade in Britain.
  • Must NEVER be tested on animals.
  • Should be kind to your skin.
  • Luxury does not mean expensive.

Himalayan Detox Bath Salts from Therapie

When asked if I would like to try some Himalayan Detox Bath Salts from Therapie**, I immediately said yes. Those of you who know me, will by now know that I absolutely love having a bath to help unwind, de-stress, relax and escape from the real world for an hour or until the water is cold and I can't stand it any longer.

Now, this is a bit of fangirl post because I absolutely love these bath salts and it isn't often that this happens. These salts were created by aromatherapist Michelle Roques Oneil, who with around 25 years experience in the business has been voted as one of the worlds top ten Aromatherapists! These salts contain over 84 minerals and are infused with many essential oils such as Lemongrass, Lavender, Juniper and Geranium to name just a few. The scent is nothing short of being divine, that is the best way I can describe it and no sooner had I opened the packet to take a sniff, the water was running in the bath so I could try them.

These salts are said to help you de-stress, eliminate toxins, Detoxify your Body and they also help with insomnia, balance pH levels as well as counteracting the electro-magnetic energy we absorb from modern day gizmos - woah!! Or to put it another way:
"A blissful cocktail of therapeutic Himalayan mineral salts, powdered Amethyst & essential oils of Lemongrass, Juniper & Geranium; these pink crystals work to balance pH levels & positive/negative ions, to help the body establish equilibrium. The Amethyst has a high mineral content, to heal & clarify problematic skin whilst counteracting the electro-magnetic energy we absorb from modern day gizmos. Add to this blood purifying & anti-inflammatory properties & discover that heaven is a bath soak".
All from a very small handful that you need to use as shown above and the salts themselves are a mixture of pinks and white grains making them just as pretty as the scent.

As soon as these salts come into contact with the water (they do dissolve) and then the vapour from the steam, the scent really comes alive and once in the bath it does truly become an amazingly relaxing experience and like nothing I have ever experienced from similar products and some people refer to these salts as being the natural Valium due to the long lasting effects. Once out of the bath there is a very slight residue on your skin which Therapie recommend not washing off, so I massaged my skin for a few minutes and then continued as I would normally do and shoved on my PJ's on and the next thing I knew my alarm was screaming at me to get up because it was time to get ready for work.

It has been a long long time since a product has given me the ability to sleep so soundly and I do believe it is this product because having now used them three times, once on a Saturday afternoon, where I was out for the count for a good few hours and when I did wake up I felt totally refreshed, the sluggish feeling had gone, instead I was alert and raring to go.

A pouch this size which has 100g inside will last a good few months and they cost just £10 which you can see HERE and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
