When a product or brand is described as being 'iconic' and a 'celebrity favourite' it definitely peaks the interest and here is one of those brands - Thayers Natural Remedies. A Cult US brand, Thayers recently launched here in the UK and shockingly it had been around for around 175 years which totally blew my mind. The brand has a plethora of Toners and body bars but also Mists and astringents which are suitable for all skin types and not only are they alcohol-free, but also made with 98% natural origin ingredients and are all certified cruelty-free by PETA.
I love a good facial mist and a toner within my skincare routine, so I was kindly sent two products from Thayers Natural Remedies - The Facial Mist with Witch Hazel and Cucumber and The Unscented Facial Toner with Witch Hazel. It is worth a mention that Thayers has a family farm in Connecticut where it grows its own witch hazel for these products!
If you read my blog occasionally or even follow me on social media, I do talk about skin hydration a lot because having oily combination skins means I am prone to dry patches on my face and often on my body, including the scalp, so for me, hydration is key.
Starting with the Thayers Unscented Facial Toner (£14.99) which is described as being an alcohol-free, non-drying toner which is suitable for sensitive skin types and is a clean-ingredient formula crafted from 98% naturally-derived ingredients.
Formulated with the brands hero ingredient Witch Hazel which is known for its ability to soothe and refresh the skin, it works alongside Aloe Vera which has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties as well as helping to hydrate, nourish and promote healthy skin. Plus, you will also find the inclusion of Glycerin, a humectant and emollient which draws water into the skin and helps it to retain moisture which results in skin that is hydrated, refreshed, and soft-feeling.
Designed to be used both AM and PM, this is a really refreshing toner without that strong scent of Witch Hazel that makes your eyes water and on my skin, it is soothing and refreshing all without stripping the skin
Then we have the Thayers Facial Mist (£14.99) which I have the Cucumber version of, though it is also available in three other scents - Rose Petal, Unscented and Lavender.
Described as being an Alcohol-free facial mist which soothes and hydrates, it aims to reduce the appearance of pores and balance the complexion. Again, this mist uses a blend of witch hazel and aloe vera which work to provide a uniquely balanced soothing and hydrating formula alongside refreshing and soothing Cucumber Extract which is known to add moisture to the skin while at the same time relieving puffiness and redness.
The advice on using this Face Mist is to use it anytime throughout the day as a softening refresher and for me, I use it between skincare steps and throughout the day when I feel my skin needs.
As you can see, both products are really lovely and their price point definitely has them within the affordable category and because they are available in Boots, they are much easier to get access too, along with the rest of the range.
