Beauty Kin Body Bars

Meet Beauty Kin, a brand that is on a mission to turn bath and shower time into an experience for everybody and every body.
Beauty Kin Body Bars
Born of a frustration at not being able to find a plastic free product that only cleansed but nourished and provided a solution to our skin, they created bars packed with active ingredients to leave skin happy and healthy. Each bar is tailored to provide a specific skin issue solution and, unlike soap, won't dry your skin out.
"I wanted to create a set of plastic free products that enriched my daily routine. Products that actually did something, were environmentally friendly, that felt luxurious, looked great, but were an every day staple, accessible to all. I want to build a community of people that not only care about the environment, they also care about decent results from their skincare

100% created to tackle the issues our skin sometimes encounters, I hope you love them as much as I do. Join the Kin"
These Beauty Kin Bars are proudly vegan, soap-free, cruelty free, packaged in fully recyclable material, use 70% less water than shower gel in the manufacturing process and last twice as long as the average body wash according to the brand and they are available in a variety of options which includes an Exfoliating Body Bar, Hydrating Body Bar, Clarifying Body Bar and a Shaving Body Bar which are all £7 or around £3 for a mini version. If you are not sure which bar is the right one for you, there is a quiz that you can take - here, which will determine which bar you should be using.

I was kindly sent the Shaving Body Bar and the Clarifying Body Bar and have, only the past few weeks been putting them to the test.

The Shaving Body Bar - Designed for those that suffer with irritation or post shave burn, the Shaving bar contains active ingredients designed to moisturise, hydrate and to soothe.

On the skin, this Shaving Bar is a great alternative to your traditional shave gels, whether you purchase your own or steal your partners. As soon as it comes into contact with water, the lather is really creamy and I happen to love how this particular bar smells and that is owing to those ingredients mentioned above, such as
  • Lavender is an excellent anti-inflammatory. It reduces redness, calms the skin and also soothes any rashes.
  • Squalene An emollient that mimics the skin to stop the loss of moisture and restore suppleness. Squalane is a vegan ingredient sourced from plants. It’s an excellent antioxidant and it won’t make your skin feel too greasy.
  • Sodium Cocoate - A rich coconut base which is an effective cleanser for dry skin.
  • Musk provides a rich deep earthy, woody intoxicating scent
I have absolutely nothing but praise for this Shaving Body Bar, it is simply delightful to use and definitely so much better than any shaving gel that I have used. My skin is left smooth, moisturised and there is no sight or sign of razor burn.

The Clarifying Body Bar is a great alternative to a liquid body cleanser and is perfect for those of us that suffer with facial blemishes, back blemishes and oily skin.

Formulated with Salicylic acid which works to gently exfoliate the skin and unclog pores, Tamanu which works to reduce redness and aid scarring, Squalene to hydrate and moisturise before finally, there is the inclusion of Neroli which smells incredible but also acts as an anti-bacterial agent.  This cleansing bar is 100% soap free and is also pH-balanced to be gentle on the skin.  When it comes to using, you use it as you would a bar of soap and once the lather has been created, the advice is to leave it on the skin for around two minutes before rinsing.

A really lovely brand of skincare that has been a pleasure to get to know and if you are wanting to make the switch to using products which are plastic free, vegan, cruelty free and fully recyclable, then Beauty Kin is definitely a place to look.
