This Is Silk is a brand I have recently been introduced too and from the two products I have - I am obsessed! Founded in 2017 by Sonal Keay who had used Silk to manage her own skin condition and help with the condition of her hair.
I am already a huge fan of silk pillowcases and eye masks and have in the past time silk beauty products, but these two in about to share are something else. It’s no secret that I am a fan of cleansing, there is something about it as a ritual in an evening that helps to leave the day behind, help to relax and unwind and settle down for the evening, so I couldn’t wait to try one of these products!
This Is Silk Cream Cleanser, which happens to be accompanied by a cloth (£39.99) and it is just beautiful to use.
Developed by skincare scientists and using scientifically proven ingredients, this cleanser is described as being oil rich cream cleanser which uses Silk Peptides, Probiotics and Panthenol (Vitamin B5) which work to deeply cleanse skin whilst leaving it nourished and hydrated and seriously soft - thus ticking a whole lot of boxes for me and if I was to describe this cleanser I would tell you it feels like Silk on the skin.
Within this product, the Silk peptides have been scientifically proven to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, Improve skin elasticity and 'bounce', Reduce hyperpigmentation and fight blemishes, Improve the barrier function of skin and Boost skin's natural collagen levels. If that’s not all, whilst this cleanser does cleanse and work to strengthen the skin barrier, it also uses the natural fragrances of Rose, Jasmine and Neroli which have known properties to help soothe and relax the senses.
Suitable for all skin types, this cleanser works it’s magic to remove pretty much everything in its path, however I do use an eye makeup remover to ensure all traces of mascara have gone from my eyes. After using this cleanser my skin feels soft and smooth to the touch, it doesn’t strip the skin of any moisture and there is absolutely nothing I dislike.
Having double cleansed in an evening, I have been reaching for the This Is Silk Radiance Renewed' Silk Overnight Oil with Silk, Bakuchiol & Rosehip (£39.99).
I have used an oil within my skincare routine for a good few years now and despite having oily combination skin, I often shied away from oils thinking they would make my shine worse, but in fact it is quite the opposite.
This oil took three years to develop and it’s job is to repair and renew skin whilst you sleep. To do this, it features three of the most potent, superstar ingredients, each famed for their anti-ageing and skin-renewing qualities
- Silk Peptides - these have been scientifically proven to:Reduce the appearance of fine lines, Improve skin elasticity and 'bounce', reduce hyperpigmentation and fight blemishes as well as to improve the barrier function of skin
- Bakuchiol - this little gem has been proven to be as effective as Retinol and has been proven to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, improve the tone and elasticity of skin, reduce blemishes and inflammation caused by acne and soothe stressed skin
- Rosehip seed and Fruit Oil - Used in a lot of oil, it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, brightens dull or blemished skin tone, helps with reducing pigmentation and scarring caused by acne and it is also incredibly hydrating and soothing, especially for dry skin
- Rose, Jasmin and Neroli - Three of my absolute favourite oils and all of which are blended into this oil to help lift your mood and to help relaxation before sleep.
What I have been loving about this oil is that it isn't greasy or tacky on the skin. Since having Covid at the end of 2021, my skin has been really dry and whilst I am taking a host of supplements to try and help, I have found oils have really become my skins best friend.
Without question, these two products make quite the duo and for anyone wanting to change their cleanser to something really luxurious, but without that hefty price tag, then the This Is Silk Cream Cleanser is definitely the one for that!
