As a member of BeautyPie, which I wrote a review about as to why I joined and the benefits of being a member, I have over time, tried some really amazing products, many of which I have repurchased because I have been that impressed.
A few months ago, I decided to try the Primer that so many people raves about, even in a Facebook group I belong too, this primer was the one you needed. Priced at just £9.25, the Beauty Pie WonderFilter Brightening Primer comes packaged in the telltale white box with black writing and it contains 30ml of product within a pastel pink plastic tube. If you’re not a member of BeautyPie then this primer is priced at £30, putting it very much at the high end price of the market.
From South Korea. Our Wonderfilter™ Brightening Primer boasts cutting-edge Pseudo-Skin Canvas Technology, hollow Prism Pearls for an ‘inner glow’ effect, and hydrating Ficucell Vita for the ultimate hybrid primer skincare-makeup mashup. Lightweight. Translucent. Imperfection blurring. This amazing colour-correcting primer gives a gorgeous naturally-radiant glow, plus long-lasting complexion brightening benefits.
The Beauty Pie WonderFilter Brightening Primer is a pale pink colour when squeezed from the tube and it has quite the shimmer to it when you first squeeze it out, thankfully that shimmer isn’t here to stay. On the skin, this primer is goes from being that lightweight cream-gel that blurs imperfections to a refreshing base that leaves your skin glowing. It does boast four main ingredients which are worthy of a mention and they are:
- Pseudo-skin canvas technology with simi-lipids - said to be for optimal makeup adherence and enhancement of the pearl-light reflection
- Hollow Prism Pearls For a natural inner-glow effect
- Ficucell Vita (0.5%) - this is used for hydration
- Micro-pearls - These are used for multi-tonal colour correcting
I love to apply this with my tinted moisturiser or BB Cream and depending on how much time I have, I might mix a few drops in to save completing a step in my routine. Because it gives such an amazing glow, you could also use it as a highlighter too, using just a little bit on those cheekbones over your foundation or base products to add some glow.
The swatches shown above of this Primer let you see just how beautiful it is, the top swatch is with the flash on and the bottom is without.
Without the use of silicone, I like this this feels on my skin when applied, it definitely doesn’t have the texture of other primers that I have used and whilst I’m not too convinced it has improved how long my makeup has lasted once applied because I also use a setting powder or spray. What I can say is that as a base product, I do love how it lets makeup sit on my skin, especially as my skin is quite dry currently after having covid.
If you are not yet a member of BeautyPie but you are intrigued by their products and the prices, I have a code which gives us both £10 off our orders, so definitely worth giving it a try!
