Dr Jackson Skincare - An Introduction

I first came across Dr Jackson as a brand via a beauty box back in 2015 and since then, they haven't been a brand I have really got to know. When they kindly offered to send me a few of their products to try, I immediately agreed and I am so glad that I did. This is an introduction to Dr Jackson as a brand and whilst I am getting to know them, this post will be updated from time to time, but I just wanted to share some of their products with you.
Dr Jackson Skincare - An Introduction
Dr Jackson Skincare - An Introduction
Dr Jackson’s, is described as being a sustainable, science-led cosmetics company that creates natural skincare products and organic herbal teas. Fascinated by nature from a young age, Dr Simon Jackson, a scientist, spent over 2 decades studying indigenous plants and their uses in traditional medicines.  As a brand, they officially launched back in 2012 and the brand has moisturisers, oils, toners and cleansers across the skincare sphere and those are what I am sharing in this post.

Starting off with Dr Jackon's 07 Face Wash (£30) and it is described as being a gentle face wash which cleanses and hydrates the skin as well as working to help remove dirt and control oiliness without stripping away skin’s natural moisture.
Dr Jackson Skincare - An Introduction
This Face Wash is packed full of botanical ingredients and fruit acids such as:
  • Kigelia fruit extract, mandarin orange peel oil and lemon peel oil: They work to cleanse, tone and tighten the skin.
  • Baobab seed oil: helps to hydrate and nourish the skin.
  • Pomegranate fruit extract: Full of antioxidants which help prevent hyper-pigmentation and sun damage, the fruit acids from the seed arils function as natural, gentle exfoliator too.
  • Roman chamomile flower oil: Use for its softening and soothing properties.
What I am loving about this Face Wash is the amazing uplifting scent that is offered, it is the kind of scent that should be turned into a candle or even a room spray to be used during those moments of manic tension or down moments.  On my skin, it is every bit as gentle as promised and it does such a great job and leaving my skin feeling squeaky clean.

The second product the Everyday Oil 03 (£14.99) which is described as being a lightweight, nourishing blend of 100% natural oils which is for use on both the face and body, which also includes cuticles, the hair and your nails. The job of this oils is to work to effectively reduces the appearance of scars, stretch marks and blemishes, as well as reducing the signs of ageing.

Again, packed with some incredible ingredients, this oils includes:
  • Baobab seed oil: high in fatty acids which helps to encourage regeneration and promotes elasticity as well as diminishing scarring.
  • Marula seed oil and shea fruit butter: together they help to retexturise and rejuvenate the skin for a soft, youthful skin surface.
  • Calendula flower extract & arnica flower extract: calmin and soothing arnica they help to fight imperfections for a clear complexion.
As I have the rollerball version and not the one which has a pipette dispenser, this oil is so easy to use and ready for travel too and I love that there is so many ways you can use this oil, my current favourite use being on an oven burn on my arm because this is really soothing.

The Face and Eye Essence 05 (£60) is a hydrating and toning gel for the face and around the eyes and is designed to be used after cleansing.
Dr Jackson Skincare - An Introduction
I am a huge fan of using an Essence as part of my skincare routine when I feel my skin is a bit drier than usual to the touch.  This one, like the rest of the products within the range is also packed with incredible ingredients:
  • Baobab seed oil and kigelia fruit extract: which together are nourishing and help to even out skin tone and promote elasticity for a healthy, youthful texture.
  • Damask rose flower water, aloe leaf juice and roman chamomile flower: which work together with their calming properties as well as helping to alleviate puffiness and enliven the complexion for instant rejuvenation.
What I am loving about this Essence is that you only need a very small amount, as it is an essence, its texture is slightly lighter than a serum, so less is more.

Up next is the Body Toning Essence 06 (£50) and it is described as being an all-over hydrating and firming body toner to revitalise, regenerate and soothe the skin.
Dr Jackson Skincare - An Introduction
As a gel, it applies to the skin like a dream without being too thick or slimy, once in contact with the skin, it absorbs really quickly, I was surprised at just how little effort I had to apply to ensure this Toning Essence melted into my skin. Again, it is nutrient rich and contains some amazing ingredients which includes
  • Baobab seed oil and kigelia fruit extract: a regular feature within Dr Jackson skincare, within this product they are used to hydrate, nourish and promote the skin’s elasticity for a smooth, supple texture.
  • Sea buckthorn kernel oil: this is known for its restorative, soothing properties and it is really effective for rejuvenating tired looking skin,
  • Bitter orange flower oil and patchouli leaf oil: Used for their soft, uplifting aroma which is fragrant without being too much or too bitter.
This is perfect for use after bathing or showering once you have just dried your skin, the heat from your skin naturally helps this product to absorb and it leaves behind a delightful lingering scent as well as soft, smooth feeling skin.

The final product that I have been playing with the Night Cream 02 (£40) and not only is this a divine rich cream to use, it is designed to nourish, moisturise and hydrate your skin as you sleep.
Dr Jackson Skincare - An Introduction
The formula which is thick without being too thick, is once again packed full of delightful ingredients which include the likes of
  • Kigelia fruit extract: As you might have guess, it is known for its calming and soothing properties and it also works to erase imperfections and even out skin tone.
  • Baobab seed oil: It is high in fatty acids and works to encourage regeneration and promote elasticity whilst visibly tightening the skin and diminishing scarring.
Alongside those two is also the inclusion of frankincense which is a great scent to help you drift off to sleep but it is also really soothing on the skin, plus there is the use of mango seed butter which is said to help to protect the skin against environmental contaminants.

As an introduction to Dr Jackson's as a brand, I can't help but want to try everything they have to offer already, this is an incredibly impressive line-up which I am still dipping in and out of whilst this post has gone live on my blog.  Having had a bout of Covid, I found my skin really suffered, it has become really dry and irritated, so I am living for the Face and Eye Essence as well as the Everyday Oil, both of which are incredibly soothing and calming.
