The joy of absolutely loving everything there is to know about skincare, means I get to try some incredible products from some amazing brands. The latest edition to my collection came from Liz Earle with the new Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio. As a brand I remember being introduced too when my Nan talked about this polish stuff for your face that wasn’t a cold cream and of course we have all heard of that product and have probably tried the Cleanse and Polish by now!
The Pro-Biotic Balancing Trio is a range of products that works on and for all skin types and there is only three products within the range and I am sharing them all with you today. Probiotcs is possibly a term you are more familiar with when it comes to gut health rather than skincare and this is where Liz Earle has excelled with this range and made it simple. I think from time to time we are all guilty of over doing the skincare and reeking havoc, it is definitely something I have been guilty of and have held my hands up to in the past. If we upset the skin, it reacts, much like your gut if you eat too many rich foods, to combat that, Liz Earle uses a blend of pre, pro and postbiotics and other actives to strengthen the skin barrier, nourish, calm and really get your skin back on track. Like the gut. the skin has its own microbiome and is in fact home to millions of bacteria that is in charge of keeping your skin both healthy and safe.
We all know that lifestyle factors such as stress, lack of sleep and environmental pollutants can disrupt your balance of microflora and your skin’s protective barrier can be compromised, causing skin problems such as sensitivity, dryness, excess oil and blemishes. So, Probiotics have been found to be of benefit to the skin's barrier and microbiome, much like in the gut, keeping inflammation down along with reducing skin sensitivity, regulating oil production and keeping the skin hydrated. Also, the ideal time to be adding these three products to your basket to start using them!
Made up of a milk cleanser, day cream and night cream, I mentioned that Liz Earle had kept this collection simple. Better still, there is four main active ingredients to shout about:
- Fermented Oats - With post and probiotic properties to soothe the skin.
- Lunaria Oil - Nourishes and provides long-lasting hydration.
- Jojoba Oil - One of the skin's most naturally compatible oils, promoting a healthy-looking glow.
- Chicory - Sustainably grown on an organic farm in France, Chicory has skin-soothing properties.
Added to that, this range uses only natural ingredients and you will find no synthetic fragrances and if you are not a fan of scented skincare, then this range has a subtle oat scent to it, which to me just smells clean.
The first product within this range is the Pro-Biotic Balancing Milk Cleanser and anyone who reads my blog will know that I am a huge fan of cleansing. It is my favourite skincare step in a morning and my absolute favourite in an evening when I can just remove the remnants of the day and relax. This cleanser is designed to protect and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier for a visibly healthier-looking skin. On the skin, this ultra-gentle milky cleanser works to effectively cleanse without stripping the skin and leaving it feeling calmer, clearer and healthier.
Using its unique blend of ingredients, this creamy cleanser not only melts away impurities, SPF, pollution but it also removes any trace of make up and as it does all of that, it leaves your skin nourished, soothed and with a healthy-looking glow. Those ingredients which make up that unique blend are those I mentioned above - chicory, lunaria oil, jojoba oil and oat extract.
This cleanser is a 100ml in size and would normally be priced at £18 but it is currently on offer and priced at just £12.60 HERE.
The second product is the Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream and what I really like about this cream is how lightweight it is. For anyone who doesn't like a thick gloopy cream, then this one is the one you need to try because it packs a punch in terms of delivering on hydration and moisture. With its fragrance free formula, this light cream is designed to not only keep your skin hydrated, but to also again strengthen and protect the skin’s moisture barrier, so even if you have the dry and sensitive of skin, this cream will balance, soothe and comfort. For me, this was a delightful cream to use, usually in a morning I am always running late, I have my routine in my head, which never goes to plan, but the steps I am never going to miss completing is my skincare. Given that this is a light cream, it does most of the hard work for you in terms of absorbing with minimal contact to massage it in.
The second product is the Pro-Biotic Balancing Day Cream and what I really like about this cream is how lightweight it is. For anyone who doesn't like a thick gloopy cream, then this one is the one you need to try because it packs a punch in terms of delivering on hydration and moisture.
This is usually priced at £32 (50ml) but you can get your hands on it for just £22.40 RIGHT HERE for a limited time.
The third and final product of the range is the Pro-Biotic Balancing Night Cream and it is to all intents and purposes a thicker and more luxurious feeling texture than the day cream, which if you loved, you will also adore this. The Pro-Biotic Balancing Night Cream, does, as with the rest of the range, also work to strengthen the moisture barrier to dramatically improve the look of dry, sensitive skin.
It is a gentle cream and whilst it has this wonderful velvety texture, it isn't so thick that it leaves your skin feeling greasy, if anything, my skin just drinks it up and i'm unsure whether or not to add more. This cream is said to nurture skin which is stressed whilst you sleep, giving your body and skin time to recover from the days stresses. Once again, the inclusion of chicory, lunaria oil, jojoba oil and oat extract alongside the hard-working pre and post biotics appear within this cream.
The night cream is usually priced at £32 but you can get your hands on it for £22.40 RIGHT HERE (for a limited time).
As you can see, this is not a range that will shout from the rooftops about how magical it is, because it doesn't need too, it knows it works, it is back by science and has the case studies to prove that.
For me, the stand out point of this entire range is that they not only create a simple routine to follow, but even if you did decide not to use all three, each step would fit into an existing routine without any issue. For me, I like my serums and double cleansing, so they have fit really well into my more intensive routine.
Whilst there is still 30% off this range, it makes it even more affordable than it would be without the discount and it is worth trying for yourself to see the difference it does make to your skin.
