Skin Academy Zero - An Introduction

Having recently launched with Feelunique, Skin Academy Zero, has been around since in 2019. As a brand, they are described as being a 100% natural and sustainable skincare range who is on a mission to help you care for your skin naturally, without sacrificing the beauty of our planet. From day one, they have proudly used only the best, completely natural active ingredients, thoughtfully packaged to minimise waste and keep their environmental footprint as light as possible.
Skin Academy Zero - An Introduction
Skin Academy ZERO prides itself on being a small family owned British brand created and manufactured in the UK. The range has been developed by skincare development expert Holly Wagman, who herself has suffered from ultra-sensitive skin and eczema in her teenage years. Holly then became acutely aware that she had to be very selective with the choice of products she used on her skin, especially her face and around her eyes and it is from here that her It quest to understand the origin of ingredients, their properties and their benefits, with a special focus on naturally derived botanical ingredients which she found her skin tolerated and responded to best. I have been kindly sent the entire collection of products to use and get to know, which I have been doing for quite a few months now and there is some absolute gems in the mix.

When it comes to ingredients, it is worth noting that Skin Academy Zero believe that less is more and not just with ingredients, but also with their packaging too. All of the brands products promise to be:
  • 100% natural ingredients
  • Plant-based
  • Vegan friendly
  • Fully recyclable
  • Sustainable packaging
  • British owned and created
  • Cruelty free
By using the best botanical ingredients to care for your skin, you will find nourishing plant-based formulas which include four powerful key actives: sweet almond oil which is rich in vitamin E and A, coconut oil to soften and hydrate, shea butter to reduce the appearance of dry skin and finally sacha inchi seed oil whose job it is to encourage cell regeneration. All of the brands packaging is made from fully recyclable sugarcane ethanol with each of the pots have fully compostable bamboo lids which really give the brand that sustainable look and feel. The products which are housed within the glass jars are also completely recyclable and the outer packaging each product comes in is made from 15% recycled card and is itself fully recyclable too.

The brand has released a total of seven products and they are priced from £9.99 upwards to £12.99 which makes them really competitively priced for todays saturated market, plus there is also an option to purchase the products within particular bundles which makes them even more purse friendly

The first product I am sharing is the 100% natural Replenishing Facial Oil 30ml (£12.99) and it is one of my favourite products from the collection
Skin Academy Zero - An Introduction
Using a unique blend of 6 highly concentrated plant-based oils - Sweet Almond, Coconut, Jojoba, Ylang-Ylang, Bergamot and Chamomile, this oil is not only rich in antioxidants, vitamin e, essential fatty acids and natural anti-inflammatory acids, the facial oil is designed to provide targeted hydration to the skin and it also helps to rejuvenate a dull and lack-lustre complexion while at the same time balancing sebum production to deliver an intense glow boost leaving skin naturally radiant.

The second product within the collection is the Hydrating Face Wash 100ml (£9.99) and it is a delight to use.

With its deeply nourishing formula, I love the unique all-natural milky gel that effectively melts and washes away all traces of make-up, excess oil, pollution particles and other detritus from the day, all the while working to hydrate and restore your natural skin’s barrier. Within this Face Wash you will find a blend of sweet almond oil, and sacha inchi oil to keep skin refreshed, soothed and deeply hydrated.

Staying with products for the face, the next one within the line-up is the Invigorating Face Scrub 100ml (£9.99) which really had me intrigued.

Described as being ultra-kind to your skin and 100% natural, this invigorating creamy face scrub works to gently remove excess oil, dead skin, pore-clogging surface debris alongside any other impurities which help to restore your skin’s natural radiance. Again this scrub is using that blend of proven plant-based oils - Sacha Inchi Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Coconut Oil, alongside the inclusion of finely ground Apricot Seeds which work to smooth and brighten your complexion, all without being too abrasive on the skin.

I was really glad to see an Eye Cream within this range and the Rejuvenating Eye Cream 25ml (£9.99) which is again 100% natural is described as being deeply nourishing and soothing.

Antioxidant rich, this eye cream is infused with proven plant extracts which includes Shea Butter which is renowned for its healing properties, and it works alongside the deeply moisturising Coconut Oil. These all-natural ingredients not only help to protect and rejuvenate the delicate skin around your eyes, but it is also a great product for anyone who feels their skin is in need of a moisture boost.  It comes packaged inside a squeezing tube with a nozzle to help release the cream, for application, I prefer to squeeze a small amount onto my ring finger and then pat it into and onto the skin.

An absolute must within my skincare routine is a day cream and depending on how my skin is feeling, I like to change it up.  From Skin Academy Zero is the Nourishing Day Cream 50ml (£12.99).

This day cream is formulated to deeply nourish and sooth the skin whilst at the same time give it a moisture boost. It uses a powerful blend of moisture-locking Betaine which is naturally derived from Sugar Beet and it works alongside antioxidant-rich Sacha Inchi Oil, naturally healing and soothing Shea Butter and super hydrating Coconut Oil, all of which come together to nourish and care for your skin all day. What I like about this cream is that you only need a very small amount for it to works its magic and if you are someone who has dry skin, then this would be a delight to use.

If you have a day cream, then you might also need and want a night cream within your routine and again Skin Academy Zero have just that.  The Regenerating Night Cream 50ml (£12.99) is the brands most popular product and

Described as being made with a powerhouse of antioxidants, vitamins, fatty acids and naturally occurring emollients, this night cream, which is 100% natural is designed to work whilst you sleep, giving your skin some much needed TLC as well as nourishing and rejuvenating your skin. Perfect for those who feel their skin that is in need of a moisture boost.

The final product I have to share from this entire range is the natural Restoring Hand Cream 50ml (£9.99). I am quite picky about the hand cream I use, I suffer with dry skin on the palms of my hands, so I want something that is luxuriously thick and absorbs quickly without being greasy after using and for me, this cream is pretty much there.

This cream is incredibly rich and luxurious and it is enriched with sweet almond oil, coconut oil, sacha inchi seed oil and shea butter which come together to help restore dry hands, something we all probably need and have used a lot of over the last year with extra sanitising products.

As you can see, the Skin Academy ZERO range is quite something, rather than over-reaching and releasing a product a minute, they have instead put together a collection of products which work just as well on their own as they do as part of a bundle.  For me, they are perfect for anyone who is wanting to switch to that more natural and sustainable skincare options, all without having to pay over the odds for something.
