Previously known as Oilixia, Olixa is back, they’ve rebranded and I’ve been trying out a few of their products, the first one being the Kakadu Plum Gummy Facial Cleanser.
Cleansing is my favourite skincare routine part, it’s the one which gives me the chance to remove everything clinging to my skin, I can stand in front of the mirror and grimace at the change in the waters colour and just get ready to wind down, relax and pick up a book, watch TV or try not to get caught in the cats game of “attack the feet”.
Certified Vegan and Cruelty-free, this Olixa Kaladu Plum Gummy Face Cleanser has the most unique of textures. Imagine your usual cleansing routine starts with a balm which has a melting texture which is just divine on the skin, or you might use an oil, a gel or even something like a Foreo. Well Olixa has created a product which is like nothing I’ve ever used before... if you enjoyed covering your hands with PVA glue and peeling it off, then you’ll love this. Formulated using the Kakadu Plum, said to be the richest known natural source of vitamin C, it works to help shield the skin from the effects of pollution, improve hydration and if that isn’t enough, it also helps to improve your overall skin tone to give that bright and healthy complexion - that much loved glow. Alongside that Kakadu Plum you will find a variety of oils including eucalyptus, roman chamomile, almond, macadamia and apricot, it is naturally antibacterial, calming and highly moisturising.
So on the skin, the texture creates a light suction and it’s job is to help lift off makeup and grime from the skin. To use, the advice is to apply the cleanser to your face, rub it in with your fingertips and then the fun part - use your fingertips or palms again to gently pat the skin, by doing this you create a suction effect that pulls the dirt, grime and debris from your pores, quite a strange yet satisfying feeling. Once you have finished you then grab your muslin cloth, flannel or other choice of cloth which I leave to soak in warm water and then simply massage the skin until it turns to an almost milky consistency and melts away from the skin.
The texture of this cleanser absolutely fascinated me before I used it and even now, I love that sticky feel on the skin and the suction effect as you cleanse your skin.
Suitable for all skin types, this cleanser can be used both morning and evening.
