Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

Glossier is a brand I hadn't really caught on to when it first launched, but when the chance came to visit the pop-up store in Covent Garden, it was too good an opportunity to pass up. Having had the chance to have a play with what was on offer, I came away with three products and the Milky Jelly Cleanser was one of them.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
The Milky Jelly Cleanser is described as being a gentle-yet-effective creamy gel face wash for all skin types. If you read my blog, you will know that my favourite part of skincare is cleansing and I love using balms, gels, creams and lotions of from a whole host of different brands.

What I love about this cleanser is just how gentle it is on the skin. Not only does it remove dirt, excess grease and non-waterproof makeup, it does so without stripping the skin. One issue I often find with some cleansers is how they leave my skin feeling after use, for me it isn't just about their ability to remove what is on the skin, but also how the skin feels. What makes the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser special is its ingredients:
  • Poloxamer A strong yet mild cleansing agent used in contact lens solution.
  • Rose Water - Gloessier has replaced 1/4 of the H2O content with soothing rose water
  • Comfrey Root Extract Contains allantoin, which heals dry, stressed skin.
  • Aquaxyl Refills skin’s water reserves and improves its barrier to prevent dehydration.
  • Pro-Vitamin B5 Powerful, natural moisturizer found in mushrooms and cheese.
The advice when using this cleanser is to either massage 1-2 pumps onto wet skin in a morning for a simple cleanse or if using in an evening, 2-3 pumps onto dry skin before rinsing off with water.  If you wear waterproof mascara, the advice is to try the Milky Oil Waterproof Makeup Remover.

On the skin, the cleanser is incredibly smooth and soothing, the texture which is definitely just as the name suggests, is a milky jelly and it smells very very subtly of Rosewater, which I really like. For me, 2 pumps is definitely more than enough to cleanse my face as I prefer to remove eye makeup separately before cleansing. Naturally, this cleanser can be used alone, or as part of a double cleanse if that is your preference but it does not leave your skin feeling stripped of moisture, it actually leaves my skin feeling just incredibly smooth, clean and soft to the touch.

This is the first product I have used from Glossier and one I would repurchase without hesitation. I love how gentle it is on my skin, how it does the job it is designed to do and all without drying out my skin.  The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser retails are £15 for 177ml or £8 for 60ml, neither price being too expensive.
