Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer

Too Faced is one of those brands I just love, it is fun, slightly quirky and the name is simply brilliant. The Born This Way Foundation was one of my favourite finds a good few years ago now, I like how it sat on my skin.  More recently, the Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer (£25 for 15ml*) was gifted to me to try and I had high hopes after reading a few reviews.

I have quite pale skin, so when it comes to finding a concealer which is, as recommended 2-3 shades lighter than my skin tone, it can be a challenge, but the shade Cloud, is one of the lightest of the 35 shades so I opted for that one.
This hydrating, buildable, multitasking concealer masks imperfections, smooths, and sculpts skin for natural-looking coverage. It’s infused with coconut water, alpine rose, and hyaluronic acid—skin-loving ingredients that come together for crease-free, weightless wear that's so naturally flawless they’ll think you were born this way.
Described as having a versatile formula, this concealer can be used for a host of complexion enhancement such as concealing and retouching to contouring, sculpting and highlighting. Now this is very much a full coverage concealer and I needed the tiniest amount on my skin and for me, this is where I am not a fan of the diamond-shaped doe-foot applicator. It claims to give you the chance to apply the perfect amount of product to your skin, but I found it to pick up and hold too much concealer, so instead, I use a concealer brush and it works much better for me.  When it comes to using this product to contour or highlight, this is perhaps where the brush comes into its own, but I use it for concealing only.

The first few times I used this concealer I wasn't a fan at all, it took me quite a few tries to get used to using something that was such full coverage, but once I got the hang of where and how to apply it, I am obsessed with using it.  It literally covers any blemish, spot, mark and redness with incredible ease.  You can, should you wish too, build it up and pack it on in the places you feel you need it.  Once it is on the skin, I love how this formula sits and under the eye, finally something that doesn't crease! It is smooth, almost seamless and despite being full coverage, it is weightless and gives a natural finish.

Cloud, which is the shade I have is described as being Fairest with Neutral to Rosy Undertones and it definitely fits that description.

The swatch above is unedited and I simply swiped the doe-footed applicator onto the back of my hand to show the shade as I see it.  It does have a slight rosy undertone which you can see and it is definitely pale, for me, this shade works perfectly for what I want and need it to do.  Having combination-oily skin can often mean using a concealer is often pointless because, by mid-afternoon, it has disappeared.  This formula being oil-free does make a huge difference.

What else do you need to know?

  • Oil-free, non-comedogenic formula
  • Can be used to conceal, contour, highlight, and retouch
  • Weightless and hydrating so skin is never dry or cakey
  • Long-wearing for 12 hours
  • Photo friendly
  • 35 shades now available

I really like this Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer from Too Faced and I definitely chose the right shade for my skin, even when I went to the Carnaby Street store to be shade-matched, without saying which shade I thought I was, Cloud was the preferred choice there.
