One of my favourite brands is Omorovicza, a Budapest based skincare brand who has launched some of the most amazing products which I have featured on my blog (here) and they include the Queen of Hungry Mist, Moor Cream Cleanser and the Thermal Cleansing Balm. Today sees the turn of the Revitalising Scalp Mask and its launch takes the brand and its product into a whole new category of hair care.
The term 'Skinification of hair' is one I have heard bandied about quite a lot recently when it comes to describing hair care products such as scalp masks. I have been using a scalp mask for as long as I can remember knowing of their existence and I couldn't wait to give this one a try.
Maintaining a healthy scalp is just as important as the skin on your hands, face, body and feet and yet it is one of the places that many forget about. Designed to be used as a pre-shampoo treatment, Omorovicza uses a whole host of ingredients to ensure this scalp mask works to detoxify and revitalise the scalp whilst at the same time helping to promote healthier hair.
Nestled in a tube which comes with a handy nozzle and it is the nozzle which helps distribute an even amount of the product on the hair. It should be applied to a dry scalp and I find it much easier to section off my hair and then stand in the mirror to apply it. Once it has been applied, massage your scalp to ensure you haven't missed anywhere and leave it to work its magic for between 10 and 20 minutes before rinsing out using warm water, not hot.
If you are familiar with Omorovicza as a brand then there is always one common ingredient within each product and it also features here and that is Hungarian Moor Mud. Within this scalp mask, it works to detoxify and revitalise the scalp and promote healthier hair. Also included is cooling menthol and camphor which provide immediate relief for irritated, itchy scalps and salicylic acid which provides gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and unblock hair follicles to promote growth and volume. Alongside these ingredients are a whole host of others and they include:
- Celery Seed Extract which helps to restore comfort and fights flakiness, dryness as well as to control sebum production. More interestingly, it helps reduce the release of histamine to relieve itching and irritation.
- Rapeseed Oil which is a strong conditioning agent to nourish and soothe itching and irritation
- Apricot Kernal Oil is used to rejuvenate the scalp and encourage cell renewal
- Virgin Plum almond oil which helps to restore the scalps moisture levels and actively reduces any inflammation.
- A blend of essential oils which includes mint leaf, lavender and lemon peel which together work to cool and stimulate blood circulation to the scalp as well as providing anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
When I am stressed or feeling run down, one place that gives the telltale signs is my scalp. It becomes dry and itchy and really irritated and I love to use products which are both cooling and soothing and this mask ticks both of those boxes. I love how this mask feels on application because it instantly cools and is incredibly soothing, more so if you wrap your head in a cooled towel whilst the mask works its magic. Easy to wash out, my hair is so soft and shiny after using and I love how my scalp feels, gone is the irritation and itching, almost in an instant.
The Omorovicza Revitalising Scalp Mask is £55 (here*) but it is absolutely worth every penny, if like me, you have an irritated scalp that needs some TLC.
