If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you will have noticed that I adore Korean Beauty. Referred to as K-Beauty, for me, there is just something that little bit different, something a little bit out there and definitely something that is ahead in technology and innovation than that of the beauty products that we use here in the UK. In South Korea, the skincare industry is incredibly competitive and this means companies are forever looking to discover the next BIG ingredient. Huge sums of money is invested in development and research and unlike brands over here in the UK, these companies keep their prices as competitive as they possibly can for the consumer because they want them to keep coming back.
So big is the industry in South Korea, experts in skin care innovation claim K-Beauty is at least 12 years ahead of their American and French counterparts.
Now you might have heard about the use of some wacky ingredients and there are rumours of 10/11 step regimes which Korean ladies complete every single day, in some cases twice a day. I have been to a few brand demonstrations as to what these routines are like and it is something like this - Oil Cleanser, water based/foaming cleanser, exfoliators, sheet masks, toners, essence, Serum, eye cream, moisturiser/sleeping pack and SPF. Putting all of this together, the one thing that stands out is hydration and maintaining that healthy glow - the most important focus.
It is a well-known fact that Korean Beauty gave us the first BB Creams and now we have face masks, serums, cleansers, eye creams, lip masks, hair masks, feet masks and so much more to get to know.
So above the main page on my blog (here), there is a section of the blog which will feature the K-Beauty brands that I use, have been introduced to, have come across, discovered and am intrigued by and they include:
- touch in SOL
- J.One
- Tony Moly
- Dr Jart
- Erborian
- Its Skin
- BioAqua
- Hello Jo
- Holika Holika
- Oh! K
- Laneige
- Seoulista
Plus many more who I am working with, waiting to test and testing. As brands appear in my stash, an intro will be written about who they are and what they have within their catalogue of products and as the review is written, a link will appear there.
