L'Occitane Aqua Réotier Collection

New from L'Occitane is a range which I loved the sound of as soon as it hit my inbox and I haven't been disappointed by the products I have been sent. The Aqua Réotier Collection is all based on the water of the Réotier spring in Provence, water which is enriched with minerals and has an especially high concentration of calcium, 10x richer in fact than other French thermal springs. L'Occitane explains that this high level of calcium is key for the skin to maintain its natural barrier function and to retain moisture and hydration.

Coming together, this collection is made up of 5 products and they are ideal to use together to make up what is referred to as being a Thirst-Quenching Routine - For a 24h Hydration. L'Occitance have cleverly put these ingredients into a routine for trying and it works likes this:
  • Cleanse with the Water Gel Cleanser
  • Prepare with the Moisture Prep Essence
  • Intensely hydrate with the Ultra-Thirst Quenching Gel or Cream
  • Refresh with the Fresh Moisturising Mist

I was kindly sent two products from the range, the first being the Aqua Réotier Moisture Prep Essence and the second is the Aqua Réotier Ultra Thirst-Quenching Cream.

Aqua Réotier Moisture Prep Essence (£22) is described as being a pre-moisturiser with calcium-rich Réotier water to give skin a first layer of moisture and reinforce the hydrating properties of your skincare routine. Like a sponge, skin retains water better when it is already moist.

An essential step of the hydrating ritual, this Essence is a light gel-texture which turns to water on contact with the skin. L'Occitane state this is the product which acts as a pre-moisturiser to prepare the skin with the first layer of moisture and reinforce the hydrating properties of the Aqua Réotier Ultra Thirst –Quenching Gel and Aqua Réotier Thirst –Quenching Cream which follows on within the routine listed above.

If you have tried an Essence before, then you will know that you need just a small amount to pat onto your freshly cleansed skin. For me, using an Essence is something I have done for quite some time, using different brand options. From L'Occitane we have an Essence which is enriched with hydrating hyaluronic acid and calcium-rich Réotier water known for its properties to help skin maintain its hydration barrier and retain moisture. After using, it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and smooth to the touch.

Then we have the Aqua Réotier Ultra Thirst-Quenching Cream (£28) which is described as being a fresh and comforting face cream that instantly recharges skin with water leaving it replenished, radiant and plumped.

As with the Essence, this cream is also enriched with hydrating hyaluronic acid and calcium-rich Réotier water to ensure the hydration of the skin is retained.

What I really love about this cream is how lightweight it is. Velvety to the touch, it has a non-greasy formula which has all the benefits of a gel. The formula acts like a magnet to hold in moisture and drench the skin all day long. I have combination skin, so dryness is often an issue and this cream is just an absolute pleasure to use. Once applied, my skin feels soft and smooth throughout the entire day and knowing my skin is hydrated, my makeup applies much better, my skin looks and feels so much better and have used this cream for a good few months now, I have had people ask why my skin looks so radiant!

As always with L'Occitane, the products are just incredible. Having been using just these two from the range and seeing how much of a difference they have made to my skin, makes me wonder what it would be like to use the entire Thirst-Quenching Routine!

Have you tried anything from the L'Occitane Aqua Réotier Collection?
