A few weeks ago I introduced a few Primark palettes into my stash (here) and I like them, yes they cost £4, yes they are not as good as higher end brands but what they are great for is to play around with, practice and some of the shades are pretty stunning as you can see here. Today, however, I am moving on from Palettes and I am onto the PS Pro Kiss Proof Liquid Matte Lipsticks.
There is quite an array of shades to pick up from your nudes right through to the bright red, coral and even dark berry shades. I decided to go for something in the middle and something that I would feel comfortable wearing and it is called Rose in Paris!
So firstly, the packaging is actually rather good and quite similar to other Liquid Matte lipsticks that I have tried. Encased in a glass bottle, you can clearly see the shade that you have purchased and the shade you see is pretty much the shade that comes out and transfers onto the lips - one brand I tried with a berry shade dried almost black, this one did not dry a much darker shade - thankfully.
The doe foot applicator is also quite impressive, it picks up a lot of the liquid lipstick and makes the application really straightforward and the colour pay off is so much better than I was expecting and you literally only need to coat the lips in no more than two swipes I found. There is a subtle hint of vanilla but not so much that it has me turning my nose up. As this is a Matte Liquid Lipstick you do need to prep your lips beforehand because it will emphasise any flakiness, dry skin and just looks horrendous. Once on the lips, I was surprised and how comfortable it was to wear, I readily hold my hands up and say that I did expect to find this liquid lipstick drying and just awful, but it was quite the opposite. It begins to dry as soon as it has been applied and photos were taken with and without the flash show that there is quite the sheen before it dries.
Once it has completely dried, it does settle into the lines of the lips slightly but not so much so that I am quick to wipe it off and start again, in fact for the £3 price tag, I am pleased with the overall finish. The real test comes with the staying power, I haven't given it the Kiss Proof test but it definitely does not transfer on to cups and glasses whilst I have drunk and even if you wipe your mouth, there is only the faintest transfer of colour. As the day goes on the colour does fade and if you are going out in an evening, then re-application is a must with this to bring back the colour, otherwise, it lasts perfectly well for 5-6 hours.
So another thumbs up from me from the PS Pro range and for the price, it is worth trying, especially if you haven't yet tried a liquid Lipstick and are not sure if they are for you!
